Updated first post with the new stock rims painted and powder coated.

Had them all of a day and all 4 will need to go back to get redone. Scratched them to hell!

The first picture is out of focus. But you can see where it has pierced right through the powder-coat into the rim.

Unfortunately all 4 got scraped up in some way. (No, I can't believe it either)

who powdercoated these for you? I have some volk TE 37 with the same exact color style and need to have them re coated

how did you blacken the center caps too? permanent marker?

Vectorsumio 10-27-2009 09:15 PM

That was all done by the shop. They surprised me with the painted caps!

Smallywood 10-27-2009 10:47 PM

How in the world did you do that damage to your wheels?

370zdub 10-27-2009 11:38 PM

Those look way good, I really like red on black, but how in the world did you scratch those like that?

Vectorsumio 10-28-2009 12:21 AM

So it's cold where I live. And I was lazy and did the "NEVER DO THAT" with my car and drove down to the local car wash. (it's one of those water only deals so I won't scratch my paint)

Apparently the recent construction they did there made the drive thru a wee bit more narrow and I managed to rub all 4 rims on the metal/concrete "guides." The guy that did my rims thought I was joking when I told him about it. I can't tell ya how bummed I've been since it's happened.

OH MANl!! Thass the worst story I've ever heard. I totally took my old 350 to one of those washes, soon as I hooked up I heard scraping all along the bottom, I was already hooked up and there was nothing I could do, it was the longest 5 minutes of my life as I was dragged along hearing this horrible scraping noise and knowing that it was destroying my undercarriage.

Smallywood 10-29-2009 04:52 AM

Valuable lesson here, don't use an auto wash... Sorry about the wheels bro...
