Damn thats nice!! Is it me or is that car lowered?

AK370Z 12-08-2008 08:03 PM

I think it is. BTW, I should also mention that they kept saying something about when oil temparature reached 130 C it goes into fail-safe mode?

very encouraging, great photos too, thanks for sharing

Aw bummer, I heard the G37 gets limp mode too.

I think it limits revs to 5-6k or something. I can't remember details but I remember some people complaining about it on MyG37.

It looks like an oil cooler will be a necessary upgrade for any one interested in tracking?

Namir 12-08-2008 08:34 PM

Ok I just found the threads I was thinking about.
Limp mode thread 1
Limp mode thread 2

Apparently Stillen is working on one for the VQ37 thanks to the G37 guys. Should probably work for the 370Z too I assume?

"TORQUE CUT CONTROL (AT HIGH ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE)
ECM receives engine oil temperature signal from engine oil temperature sensor.
To avoid VVEL performance, ECM performs the engine torque cut control at high engine oil temperature.
If engine oil temperature is too high, engine oil viscosity will change. As a result, engine oil pressure is
decreased. This control is to control the VVEL operating angle by operating the VVEL actuator sub assembly.
If this control is operated, engine performance will decrease, then maximum engine speed is reduced a little,
for example.
NOTE:
If the engine oil temperature sensor is deteriorated, its characteristic will change.
In this case, the operating temperature for engine torque cut control might be decrease.
Perform Component Inspection of the engine oil temperature sensor to check for the deterioration.
Refer to EC-248, "Component Inspection". "

Is it 5900 RPM? I think that's what I just read. I think Mine's working on the solution :excited:

Great info. Def need a solution for this.

white Z for sure.

tranceformer 12-09-2008 03:13 PM

Wow, those are the best Pearl White pics I've seen so far!

TacoZ 12-09-2008 05:37 PM

I was really debating on which color to get. I have always liked white cars. This pearl white is awesome. But to me, the graphite color to a Z is like the red on a Ferrari. It just matches the body lines so well. Now I can't decide between Platinum Graphite or Pearl White...I'm definitely going to have to check them out in person side by side come January. I can't wait!!!

Oil cooler?

Also I'm very surprised it hasn't got the trademark Mines front bumper canards yet or the lip or special wing... I guarantee the next pictures released of this car will have one of the three elements on it.

SWeet video! I absolutely love how the car sounds:excited: . Great find

RCZ 12-10-2008 12:37 PM

awesome find. The synchrorev match is awesome for sure. I cant wait to use that.

So it seems like it gets activated depending on what gear you want to go into when you start pushing the shifter into that gear. What happens if you choose the wrong gear? will it just not let u go into it or will it not rev or what?

Namir 12-10-2008 03:00 PM

Awesome video! The downshifting sounds like it would if he was heel-and-toeing but the upshifting is what sounded really different to me. It sounded like he was powershifting through all the upshifts as there was a noticeable jump in the revs during each shift.
Was he just doing no lift shifts or was that the synchro-rev transmission?

dyezak 12-10-2008 03:06 PM

According to the owners manual the synchro match feature only works on downshifts, not upshifts. And the downshift feature doesn't stop you from choosing a wrong gear, if you are doing 130mph and accidentally go to 1st gear you will still overrev your engine and blow it up.

Factory tires are never good...everyone knows this and they are replaced even by autocrosser's immediately, much less for track duty.

Same thing with break pads. Factory pads are made for low noise and dust, not performance pads...they get replaced immediately too.

LSD is a bit of a let down. I was hoping for a real LSD but this viscus LSD that is stock is just crap.

o0javi0o 12-11-2008 01:22 AM

That exhaust looks awesome!
What about the brake system!? they just used the Nissan original brake system?
Men, I am feeling the white..... platinum graphite.... white?

xDIEGOx 12-11-2008 01:27 AM

Thanks for the video

jrurbin 12-11-2008 03:12 AM

CrownR426 12-11-2008 03:46 AM

Which trim is that z?!
I saw the same type on my brochure.
I think the back is the besttt!

o0javi0o 12-11-2008 10:43 AM

Crazy! I love the sound...... I will not need Bose Sound System.

Except on the GT-R hehe

Brake pads will need to be replaced immediately or at least swapped every time it hits the track.

Yes on the LSD comment, I was unhappy when I heard this. This will need to go immediately.
