Not a bad choice. I am going with a Nismo wing.

Amuse370z 01-21-2014 09:13 PM

I don't know why, but I don't like this one too much. It is clean looking, but it looks off to me. Maybe its cause the brake colour and wheels clash, I'm not sure.

Handles need to be blacked out. Or is it the wheels? Colour or size? Hmmm?

I like the 'ol white and gold combo. True jdm. I would do white on the handles. Something on my to do list.

Amuse370z 01-22-2014 04:01 AM

I think its cause there really isn't a theme going on, the colour all clashes.

Blacked out mirrors, bronze wheels, silver handles and. red calipers. The shoot was taken with the sun setting, the pearl white doesn't even look white anymore...

Might be because of that funky reverse rake. :icon14:

Either that or my eyes are playing with me because the rear looks a good amount lower than the front in both still and rolling shots.

Today I learned how to tell AMS/VIS rear and front from Amuse /Shine Auto rear and front. I consider today a success.

Can you enlighten us please?

cooltoy 01-23-2014 12:20 PM

Sure.

Amuse/Shine rear.

http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/i...0341312A01.jpg

AMS rear. Notice that the bump is not as deep or sharp, more round, so the depth of the license plate area is shallower. Also the side vents are not really vents, there is no mesh there. As well look around the rear lights area, not as deep due to the less pronounced bump.

http://www.the370z.com/members/z_bro...rsideclose.jpg

AMS front. Notice the vents at the ends of the "smile" are solid as well, no mesh.

The crappy part is that everywhere they sell this kit, they use actual Amuse pictures, so there is no way to know that it is different until you receive the kit.

I am not saying that the differences are good or bad, but it would be nice to be aware of them.

FairladyZ10PG 01-23-2014 12:28 PM

I hope it's a lot cheaper than Aerojacket or Shine auto reps because they did a really poor job of replicating the kit. Or perhaps they meant to.

cooltoy 01-23-2014 12:30 PM

It is cheaper, but they probably meant to. I heard they copied a copy.

6MT-Z34 01-23-2014 01:01 PM

Thanks for clarifying that!

I like more the original amuse and shine rep, I think the depth gives it a better look IMO

wheee! 01-23-2014 01:02 PM

The side skirts are covers too... the real kit uses a replacement skirt.

KaienZ34 01-23-2014 01:08 PM

Yeah I didn't want to step on any toes. At Zdayz I got to see a real amuse (TerribleOne's FastIntentions TT) next to a shine auto rep and an ebay rep (copy of a copy) all at the same time. The shine rep and original were identical, the other is more rounded less pronounced plus all the differences stated by coolT.

yup.... :shakes head:

I picked up a set of stock skirts and I am going to try and have the body shop mold them together with the covers to create a flush fitting Amuse style skirt. It's the one thing about the ED kit that disappointed me. The rest of the kit is very good considering the price point.

The roundness of the kit is a personal preference, I don't have a problem with that. I am just a little chocked that they lead you to believe (by using Amuse pics) that it identical to Amuse, and you don't know that you are getting something different.

Pics? Why don't you drive up and have a look this spring! Maybe come up to dyno days in July.... :tiphat:

cooltoy 01-23-2014 01:38 PM

Bad things happen to me in Edmonton.;)

I'll have my Z by then, maybe there will be a meet in Red Deer (neutral ground).

I'll be putting the kit on over next winter. Shine Auto will be offering a discount on Black Friday (Nov. 28th). I'll order it then.

wheee! 01-23-2014 02:15 PM

Maybe illmotion in Calgary? I was there last year and the only two 370's were from Edmonton....

cooltoy 01-23-2014 04:38 PM

We'll have to meet up. Summer is a lifetime away.

wheee! 01-23-2014 05:36 PM

Tell me about it!! I am off to Ontario (course) for a month and then I'm taking the car in for bodywork and paint. I'll post pics of the process so you can see how the kit fit.

:iagree: my past 3 cars I "cared" about (modded & enjoyed) were always black but what a PITA to keep clean!

loved the 40th colour so went with it but I haven't seen to many 40th's with the amuse only one or two I can think of off hand……eventually I want to be another one on that list though :yum:
