Why you should not buy a 370Z
Just found this vid on youtube. Wonder if it anyone on this forum. I'm sure you guys will like it.
‪Reasons to NOT Buy a Nissan 370z‬‏ - YouTube |
Only watched like a minute. Dude sounds like an idiot. Zomg, 205* oil. Burn down Nissan hq.
|
That vid makes me smile. Pulling timing so bad at 220 that you shouldn't race anything LOL. 220 temp on the dyno still makes about 280+rwhp for most.

I think it's funny he bought a car without doing research. Nissan even admits the issue
I didn't care because of my plans for the car |

The ECU does like lower temps it seems, but meh that dude is crazy. The sustainable ideal temp under hard conditions w/ a cooler installed seems to be more like 220-250-ish for most. I'd say as long as you can keep it under 260 you don't really have a big problem.

At 230 you shouldn't even drive the car, just leave it in the garage. :bowrofl: |
Glad I can make everyones day, it shore made mine. Makes me wanna get the temps up around 230ish and see what I can lose to.

Idiot review
Oil temp issue at 220? What an idiot. Rattles, I have none.:gtfo2:

What's wrong with that guy? It isn't warmed up until it gets to 220.
|
That guy sounds like a noob
|

Ive never noticed a loss of power in the higher temp ranges...

I'm just glad the car didn't blow up and kill innocent children in the neighborhood. I can hear their little screams now....

the guy's only complaint was the oil temperature...which never even got unmanageably high during the video...and at the end he says there's "so many reasons" not to get one...not to mention $500 will make the "problem" go away

in the comments of that video, he mentions he posted a thread at 370z.com but people didn't wouldn't believe him when he said there was a loss of power due to high oil temps.... lol, wonder where that thread is...:rofl2:.
|
There is definitely pulled timing above 240 or so. I noticed it at zdayz. Car felt flat about halfway through. Its nothing compared to the shock of limp mode though.

This guy made me :bowrofl::bowrofl: in my office.
I did experience pulled timing as well after 250 after a beat the crap out of the car without my cooler on the canyon...not sure if it was limp mode though, surprised the sh|t outta me. I ended the run and was making a u-turn out of a turn out and noticed my RPMs were going up but my car wasn't really going anywhere in 1st gear...did I experience limp mode? |
