P.S. I think I posted in the wrong thread !! My colour is Blade silver which I believe is called Platinum Graphite !! BUt I am sure the Gun Metallic guys wont mind :p

That's what I was going to say, these look like Top Gear photos lol. I noticed the color was lighter and figured it wasnt Gun Metallic but close enough lol. Looks good though.

He is still pretty young (22 I think) but if he continues like this I am sure he will be real successful

i have noticed a lot of people in this thread upset because of paint issue with the gun metal color how ever it is a problem with all Z's the is a sticker that the car is shipped with that does not get pulled off until the car is sold. So if the car sits in any hot temps and the sticker is peeled off it leaves a resadue that inbeds into the clear coat. it can not be water sanded out either. i noticed it on a few Z's in south carolina texas and louisiana this is a factory issue and your warranty covers the repainting of the car. also the color can matched so don't think there will be an offset in color because the code is transferred from japan and is made here just don't let some cheap dealership use some paint from sherman williams

any way check out this set up i think its the nicest Z i have seen i love these rims on this car they are so sick. currently considering trying them out but they come with a hefty price tag as do all rims

Fellow Gun Metallic owners, long story short my vehicle is getting replaced and I have any choice of color as of right now for a new Z. Im thinking of getting a Pearl White one with orange interior. I love the GM but I'm slightly leaning toward white. It's such a tough choice, ugh!

White is defiantly sper clean. I just wish they offered the 40th color all the time.

Actually they are not that expensive (relative to other aftermarket wheels). You can get a new set for about $1200. Those are the same wheels I'm looking to get eventually.

Yeah my first choice would have been the 40th color. If I were to do it again, I'd probably get a yellow, blue, or white one.

Can you show some pictures of Z's with paint issues? I don't know if my GM Z has this issue or Im just not looking in the right place.

This car was love at first sight for me...because it's a Nismo and especially of the Gun Metallic color. I've read this thread from beginning to end and read about the paint defect. It's midnight right now and I can't wait to look closely into the paint in the morning before work. I picked it up two weeks ago. Thank you for pointing this out!

LakeShow 04-08-2012 11:19 PM

^^Nice Z mate, congrats. You probably should've looked at the paint before you purchased, but hopefully your car has no issues.

SillyZ 04-08-2012 11:27 PM

Thank you! Good luck with your new Z. It's a great news that they will replace your car! I just told my husband to shine the light while I look right now. He said I was nuts! I said I have a new love!

Haha thanks. If you really want to check the paint out you have to look at it without any direct light on the car. You can't see it in direct sunlight or if you are shining a light on it. When I used to shine a light on it or look in the sun, the imperfections aren't noticeable. I'm sure your car is fine. Don't stress it to much looking for it. Enjoy the car. :)
