A very CLOSE call at the parking lot!!!!

I was coming back from my lunch break and my heart almost dropped to the floor when I saw this. Luckily no damage to the car (purchased 3 weeks ago).

http://www.the370z.com/members/fairl...4-image-1.jpeg

For the next half an hour, (at this point I didn't care if I was late for work as I was determined to find the owner to have a few "kind" words) I looked around & asked everyone if they own this car but no luck.

As I was just about to give up, guess who shows up but a girl about 18. Figures.

Push370zzz 09-10-2010 05:10 PM

Honestly how the hell did she pull in without hitting you

By the look of the front tires, she took a hard right and basically ended up right next to him, very lucky indeed.

Cmike2780 09-10-2010 05:16 PM

Did u say anything to her? What the he'll was she thinking?

phelan 09-10-2010 05:17 PM

Yeah she's a bit far over, but tbh you're not parked perfectly either.

:iagree: I do feel very fortunate that she didn't hit my car. :ugh2:

Cmike2780 09-10-2010 05:20 PM

How is he suppose to get in? That's just a **** move.

It's California. More than half of us can't drive worth a damn. Hell, a bunch of drivers aren't even licensed in this state :icon14:

Especially if it's a kid handling a boat of an SUV like that, I'm not surprised she has no idea where her car's edges are. Just be positive, at least there was no damage to be had. I'm sure it wasn't a purposeful '**** move', especially from an 18 yr old girl.

EDIT: could be worse, we almost had another one of these on our hands: http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...-hit-help.html

I told her next time leave her number so someone can contact her. She was getting her nails done.

You're right but I did park that way for a reason as the car that I initially parked next to was far to the left as well. Left me no choice & I didn't want to do what she did :icon17:

WarmAndSCSI 09-10-2010 05:28 PM

I would have gotten in through the passenger side backed out and torched that POS Chevy. Seriously, no excuse for that kind of dumbassery.

But on a serious note, you should use an end spot next time ;)

:iagree: I'd seen that thread before and this incident reminded me of that as soon as I saw it. I am pretty lucky.

HaHa. I really wanted to see the driver of that car so I chose not to move the car. I'll try to find a safer spot from now on. :)

I keep a pocket knife in my car for situations just like this. One time I needed to pull into a 15min flasher waiting zone when I was apartment finding, and there was a dip$hit in a utility truck parked there. He was just getting out and I politely asked him how long he thought he'd be. He replied "as long as I want". Strange, but utility trucks sometimes get two flat tires at the same time...

I don't think the truck deserved that... Next time stab the guy in the leg.

No winder she didn't get the "kind words" you were intending to have with the owner. ;)

Waiz 09-10-2010 08:20 PM

This is pretty crappy but both of you parked pretty bad.

If you're going to park like that at least choose a spot away from everyone else or even on the street where no one can give you a door ding.

fairladyZ34 09-10-2010 08:25 PM

wow, *knocks on wood*

mick 09-10-2010 09:38 PM

it would have been poetic justice if another driver parked like that on the right side of her car so she has to enter the car from the trunk :)

I would have said next time leave a Can Opener!!! :shakes head:

But good to hear there is no Damage :ugh2:

Jeffblue 09-10-2010 10:34 PM

same thing happened to me a while back at a bank. I was parked very close to the right side line, and this lady parked practically touching my car, in such a way that i couldn't back out, and she couldn't back out. we had to wait for the woman who was parked across from me to pull out so i could leave. I'm standing their all pissed waiting to see who had managed to park me in like that and this lady comes out like 'Oh! am i too close?!' like she had no idea. then gets in the passenger side of her car and climbs over. obviously, if you can't get in/out of the driver side of your car, you are too close to mine.

spearfish25 09-10-2010 11:16 PM

This just goes to support my theory that we should all be allowed to shotgun one person a day. Imagine what a better place the world would be if you could just put a single slug in one jacka$$ every 24 hours.

I just had a guy cut me off and then get pissed that I honked at him. As 'payback' he proceeded to cut me off a second time on the highway, slow down to 15mph and then stay in front of me as I exited. Then he stopped on the off-ramp and got out of the car. He started screaming at me through the window as I showed him '911' on my iPhone. Shotgun, one slug...world would be better.

In Utah you could have if he was threatening you and seemed like he was about to commit a forcible felony... be it smashing your window and trying to drag you out of the car, or looking like he was about to pull out a concealed weapon.

Car, home, whatever - you're allowed to defend it here with deadly force. Plus it is lawful here to carry concealed or open - loaded - in your own vehicle.

God bless the Utah conservatives. Their laws definitely seem to support your eugenic-type sentiments. lol

Scary how you guys contemplate shooting people for such unimportant matters. Here in Europe the worst you can ever get is a a fist up your nose, you'd most probably survive but being shot for honking someone :wtf2:.
