This is awesome. I would be really interested in doing this if all works out for the best...

Umm.. I'm not a fan. It reminds me of Smokey & The Bandit and the Trans-Am.

I just spoke to Dean on this project, hes doing finishing touches and just did something to change the look a little bit. Let me tell you, a subtle touch of carbon fiber and talk about a HUGE difference in the look of this car now. I told him to get on, but hes trying to finish it within the next 2 weeks to post again.

ZOMBIE THREAD
that said... i have never seen this before... and ... WANT. So much want. |
Hey all, I'm back. Sorry, was going through a divorce and everything is done between me and the ex. I just got the Z yesterday, and it looks like it came down with the dreaded "steering wheel lock" issue. Taking it to the dealership tomorrow. I have to update you all on my project and get back into the "rebuilding mode." I have not driven it for over 1 and 1/2 years. Heck, I haven't even seen it for that long as well. I totally forgot how SEXY the 370 looks! I only see a few here in Columbia, and that's usually driving by. My site is down, but i'll get it back up soon. I do have lot's of pictures, especially of the top. I ending up making by hand and chose an aluminum top because of the lighter weight. YES.... it does leak some. That will be top of my list today. So..... in the meantime, I have to treat it like a motorcycle. Hey, I'm a patient man and my leaks will be resolved soon. Again, I just got it yesterday. I need it to start first! lol

Btw, what about hand cranking it and doing an oil change to get the oil moving a bit?
|
I know, right... Well, my ex has been driving it some and taking care great of it. She had it changed about 300 miles ago. And I'll post some pics soon. Mainly construction pics. I am going to Myrtle Beach in a week. Hope to have some great ones there. Looking for a car show to get this Z back in the groove. She has feelings too, ya know. lol She misses the hot girl models. Or... is that me?
|
atleast you and your ex are getting along
|

how can an average height person drive with that roll bar above the seat?
and not a fan of the three dif color yellows under the hood. |
^what roll bar???
And I kinda agree on the colors |
I agree as well. Nissan only used a base coat in the engine compartment, then we put the exterior color over the compartments. Mike, thepowdercoater could not match up the paint. The colors do bug me as well. Oh well, there is only so much I could do. I'll prob paint everything like the base coat in the engine compartment. Don't care for that color, but at least I don't have to deal with all that work.... for now.... lol

am i losing my mind or is there some kind of roll bar going over the headrest? |
Well, the roll bar actually sits behind the seat. It does hinder the seat from moving back about 2 inches and I can't lean back as far. My 6'1" girlfriend still fits in the passenger seat comfortably. lol
The roll bar is mainly to hold the removable top in the back. As far as actual functionality for safety, it would fail. We did paint it black at one time due to the comments from the370z.com, but i like the yellow for show. So, yellow it is. |
Could you do the targa on the Nismo? Can you have a clear targa like the Corvette?
