Everyone has their own opinions. As far as mine, the Z is an awesome well rounded mid grade sports car. Through drag statistics, the Z is around the 5.0, SS, and srt8 range. However the 5.0 and SRT8 com up on top. If I remember correctly the SRT8 and 5.0 are on par and a .3 or more seconds faster than the Z and SS on the drag strip. Not too sure about other cars. I do know the older STIs were running 13's 5 years ago or so. Iam just glad I have a Z. There will always be someone faster than you or slower than you, why be egotistical or jealous. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just have funnnnnn :driving:

^ I knew the Kenlration song but had never seen that video.

Interesting to note, onions are toxic to dogs causing hemolytic anemia. Maybe not the best food.

Nothing wrong with horse meat, might as well use it and not let it go to waste. It's actually pretty lean and unlike many other meats gets more tender as the animal ages. In some parts of the world horse / donkey are still eaten. I personally have never tried it but knowing me I will one day, if I haven't already. I've traveled a good bit to countries where I have no clue what the menu says and I just point at something that looks good.

Oddly enough, horse meat is now illegal for use in pet food produced in the US, but at the same time fetches such a high price overseas it would be financially idiotic to use it in pet food.

short rant:
Sadly in the US they had banned the production of horse meat, which resulted in very sick horses being crammed into trailers for them to be shipped to Mexico and sold for meat. Many of the horses didn't survive the ride down to Mexico in the horrible conditions with little regard to their care and with little regulation of ethical slaughter practices. I believe that slaughter of horses is legal federally, but most of the abattoirs have been shut down at the state level, the plus of having horse slaughter take place in the USA is that we have humane slaughter and policies to protect animal welfare and sanitation overseen by the USDA/FDA and veterinarians through acts such as the humane slaughter act and meat inspection act that the horses being shipped over our borders don't. Problems of course arise when you take into consideration that many medications used in horses (Abx/NSAID etc) are not approved for consumption in humans or the withdrawl times are not established. Until recently the only horse slaughterhouses in the US are export only, and the sale/production/transport of horse meat is regulated state to state, to my knowledge there are no functioning horse abattoirs in the US of A.

This coming from a horse owner and (licensed but not practicing) horse doctor - dogs, cats, and lizards for me. When my horses die will they be sent to slaughter? no, they will be euthanized using barbituates that render them unsuitable for consumption and then cremated or buried. However, that is not a cheap thing for the people who are already struggling to make ends ....meat.

Horse meat is a big step up for a critter that thinks cat turds are a delicacy.

Rivals of the Z...

Cars with egregious amounts of driver aids are rivals of the Z. Self-driving, blind-spot monitoring, self-parking, active steering, throttle pulling, collision preventing, soulless, gutless, coddling cars are pushing cars like the Z to extinction.

Keep driving cars that force you into punishment if you drive like an asshat. Keep driving cars that hate you if you lack a reference level for physics. Keep driving cars that don't think for you, shift for you, or drive for you. Keep the Z alive!

Certainly not the new models, all others variables aside. 09-12 might be another story.

the z isn't dated. people say it is because they're lazy as. sh.ts that need every driver aide in the book. i want something that's raw. guess i'm a dying breed of car enthusiast. it's a sports car not a luxury sports sedan (335, s4, cla etc). you want comfy ride? go get a camry or prius.

the s2000 engines produced over 100hp / 1L displacement which is a HUGE feat considering it's NA. i never thought it was dated and was very dissapointed that they discontinued it. i would have probably got one if it was newer or in production.

rx8... what was that? i seem to have no recollection of that pos.

rx7 is another story. let's hope if mazda releases a rx9 it's going to backtrack towards the rx7 glory.:ugh2:

Doesn't our Z not let us burn out, have VDC, cruise control, and rev match, power steering, AC, power windows, rear and side defrost, power seats, tilt steering, HID bulbs, side markers, VVEL, dimming rear view mirror, ABS brakes just to name a few. You really can't say our Z is raw?!?!?!
