Evo-R... *sigh*

I've been reading a lot of bad things about these guys and their products lately (fitment issues, bad service, slow shipping, etc...)

I'm looking at rear diffusers but I've heard their carbon one fits like garbage and they have poor customer service... The price looks a lot better that $690+ for the fujimura though (shipped of course).

Can anyone give me some insight on these guys and their products? Did a search but it seems like the majority of negative comments are sporratically placed in random threads

potato.... potato.

I'm dyslexic.

But seriously, is this guy as bad as everyone says he is?

equalme 01-02-2015 12:46 PM

I remember I bought my Fujimura diffuser for only a few bucks more than the evo-r one. ($30-50 difference)

1LIFE 01-02-2015 12:49 PM

I'm happy with the evo r interior pieces I have. Can't speak of exterior though

And how much was that? And where from?

Chuck33079 01-02-2015 12:55 PM

The products are alright if you actually get them. Jay (Evo-R) loves taking money for products he doesn't have in stock, then he'll never respond to you again. If you must buy his parts, buy through the Z Store since you'll be able to get your refund when you never get your stuff. Also, AK banned Evo-R for taking people's money and not shipping products or giving refunds. Unfortunately, it was only a temporary ban.

Well that information right there is enough for me to walk away, sometimes a better price isn't always a better price I guess. Shame really, looks like they have (had) nice products for the price. but nothing pisses me off more than businesses giving me the run around and being totally helpless.

The authentic Fujimura is available for not a lot more than the halfass ripoff that Jay will "sell" you. Keep looking here. I know I've posted it before.

I paid $432 shipped from RHDJapan. Looks like it's even cheaper now at ~$380 shipped to the USA.

FUJIMURA AUTO Rocket Dancer Aero - Rear Under Diffuser Carbon Fairlady Z Z34 - RHDJapan

*They have a coupon that might work on top of it as well:
Holiday Specials: Limited time 7% discount off our best price. Coupon Code: HolidaySpecials2014

**Edit: And the coupon does work bringing it down to $355 shipped to USA. Cheaper than EVO-R!

That's an awesome deal! Was this for the carbon fiber or the FRP?

See the link I included. It's carbon fiber.

Great, thanks for this info! Has it arrived to your house yet? I always get weary of overseas shipping. What shipping method did you choose? I feel like that "EMS -Express Mail Service" would be risky. Cheap, but they probably don't give a **** about how fragile it is.

I ordered mine almost a year ago. Shipping was very fast from what I remembered.

EMS is actually very mainstream and used commonly. Nothing wrong with them and they deliver fast. My box didn't even have a dent in it.

4TthAnnyZ 01-02-2015 01:22 PM

whoops, see you added to that. Purchasing this as we speak because I'm bored at work! Glad I didn't pay almost $700 from Vivid

The bottom line is they're a hit miss vendor, and yes they made mistakes

And were only let back in as a vendor because they were fulfilling members orders as they had agreed to.

I encourage anyone whom is having issues to let AK know again so he can step in again to tighten the screws once again.

Like Chuck mentioned go thru the Z store since they do have to carry stock so customers don't have to wait as long.

I went ahead and ordered the Fujimura from that RHD website, it is shipping from Japan and the price was way to good to pass up.

I'll wait a while before ordering anything from Evo-R, maybe they will redeem themselves but I don't want to take the risk at this time. Hopefully he gets his act together, he will lose a lot of business (more than he already has) if he gets booted again.

Just to confirm. I ordered from RHD and used EMS. It took about a month to receive it. Their customer service was very good also. I sent them one email and got a response within a few hours.

Aviator44 01-02-2015 07:58 PM

As mentioned, order through the Zstore. I have the EVO-R front lip and EVO-R carbon fiber fang cover. Both were ordered through the Zstore, both were shipped quickly, and both had very good fitment. As far as I'm aware, the fitment issues on the rear diffusers has been corrected.

lgarcia 01-03-2015 02:12 PM

Ordered from RHD Japan, the coupon works! $355 shipped. Thanks for the link and coupon!

KittenMittens 01-16-2015 10:57 AM

Pictures of your results would be greatly appreciated! I just ordered the Evo-r rear CF on the z store two days and before i ran into this thread :(. I'm debating whether i just made a mistake or not.

Awesome. Thanks for the link. Looks like they haven't shipped mine yet, still on the fence.

Riptide67 01-16-2015 03:47 PM

I've placed 4 different orders with Evo-R and have never had one issue with their CS or shipping. I've been fairly pleased with them as a whole.

Mine hasn't shipped yet either, not worried about it though. I have heard nothing but good things about them, and I've also heard lead time is usually 3-4 weeks. I paid with paypal so it's safe.

From what I have researched, small businesses shipping overseas rent/own small airline shipping containers, and they will wait until the container is full before they ship it (at least for standard shipping they do). Expedited obviously goes quicker.

So chances are they just don't have enough product to ship to the US, I'm not worried about it yet.

Are you going to flame EVO-r any chance you get?

Absolutely.

Although that last statement was in regards to RHDJapan, but I have no complaints with them, simply explaining how they ship things and why sometimes it takes a while.

370Z JT 01-27-2015 12:34 PM

I've bought from evo 3 different times. Each time I would PM before purchasing to make sure it's in stock. All 3 times items came fast from Asia usually less than a week.

kenchan 01-27-2015 04:16 PM

buy from japanparts.com

Zbrah 02-03-2015 05:03 PM

Why is shipping for the frp diffuser more than cf on RHDJapan.com? I'm on the site about to order the fukimura diffuser and there are two types, frp and cf, so I'm looking the cost of each to compare, turns out the shipping charge for the cf diffuser is $49, while frp is $119! what kind of a scam is this?! :rofl2: and an extra payment charge $14! :wtf:

4TthAnnyZ 02-08-2015 12:48 AM

Update:

Diffuser arrived yesterday, wasn't home at the time so it's at the post office. Left Osaka, Japan on Tuesday. That's incredibly fast shipping!!!

I'll update again on Monday when I open it.

I keep going back and forth between both japanparts and rhdjapan. Any reason why you recommend them over the other? I haven't seen any recent issues with rhdjapan not fulfilling orders, i think there was some concern in the past? Just curious as I am also about to order a rear CF diffuser. :driving:

Amj2020 03-04-2015 12:35 PM

Rhd Japan was awesome with my diffuser. No issues at all, and lots of email updates. The package however got held at the post office and I had to go retrieve it due to the way it was shipped...no big deal!
