Chick backed up to my car...

Long story short, she reversed out of her parking spot and hit between my fender and door as I was traveling down the parking lot. The car that hit me (VW Jetta) didn't even show a sign of damage. Only minor scuffs. We exchanged info and she admitted fault.

Anyone know the estimate? Thanks

And yes, I already notified my insurance.

FPenvy 12-31-2014 12:02 PM

ouch! that's not gonna buff out lol

looking at new fender and possible new door depending on how bad that crease is.

Zoren 370 12-31-2014 12:13 PM

Ouch x2 just before year ends!

Is she an old lady? That she did not see you?

DEpointfive0 12-31-2014 12:19 PM

Hey, at least YOU'RE ok!

I can get you a fender for cheap if needed too

Tadpole 12-31-2014 12:34 PM

Your estimate will be A LOT.

:iagree:

that's about $1k at least in paint on the new/repaired parts.

hopefully insurance pays for it :tiphat:

MJB 12-31-2014 12:46 PM

axmea? 12-31-2014 12:48 PM

Even Scarlett Johansson would be an ugly toad if she hit my car :gtfo2:

Driftomodachi 12-31-2014 01:30 PM

Glad you're okay. Hope she was hot

BC416 12-31-2014 01:40 PM

Score on getting her number!

On a serious note, glad everyone is okay. Cars can be repaired.

1st 12-31-2014 01:43 PM

Im guessing 4k

6MT-Z34 12-31-2014 01:44 PM

damn...glad your ok, it might be about $1k since the door are aluminum and it will take more work to buff out

Read T 12-31-2014 01:55 PM

New fender + door skin + labour / paint. I'd say around 3 probably.

mishuko 12-31-2014 02:17 PM

that looks like 3-4k dmg cad so about 2-3 k muricano

But all you would need to pay is deductible at most. In Canada dmg over 1k has to be reported.

So yea... best case is you pay 0$ and wait a few weeks for the repair.

Good luck. Contact your insurance and start the claims process asap!

KrisL 12-31-2014 02:52 PM

Man, when I clicked on a thread titled "Chick backed up to my car..." I was hoping the rest of the story was "and said "Nice Car!" and then showed me her boobs." or something. :icon23:

The version we ended up with was way less cool.

Really sorry about the car. :( Hopefully her insurance will come clean and take care of it without any issues. Really glad you're OK though!

Limeybastard 12-31-2014 02:56 PM

2-3K damages there, sorry to see this.

Not only seek out the bodyshop, seek out they fella who will be actually in charge of your repair. Make sure they are aware that you are fussy before it goes in.

Jordo! 12-31-2014 03:35 PM

More than a $500 deductible...

You already reported, so I'd just go through insurance and deal with it that way.

blackcherry20 12-31-2014 05:17 PM

Gawd. Makes me ill to look at a damaged Z.

GL with repair.

grandpawmoses 12-31-2014 05:52 PM

Sorry for your pain.
Hoping your state has different laws. Around here the police will not respond to accidents that happen in parking lots unless there is injury or a DUI. No matter who was obviously at fault, it's considered "equal" fault to the insurance company. I've dealt with it first hand and it's so frustrating.

grandpawmoses 12-31-2014 05:56 PM

On the good side, now you've got something to put in the "...traded her in" thread.

FairladyZ10PG 12-31-2014 06:55 PM

I had a similar incident and the damage was significantly less than yours and it still came out $1500. So I'm guessing 2-3k like others have mentioned.

This^^^
And....5k here:
Attachment 98689

Zbrah 12-31-2014 07:28 PM

Well a new amuse kit is $2500, plus paint, so your estimate Should come around 4-5K. If not, you should feel some pain in your neck and lower back from whip lash in the morning:bowrofl:

eastexZ 12-31-2014 10:13 PM

Sorry to see your damage.... your door is tweeked pretty good looking at how it's fitting in the rear. Might possibly need a door shell which is how I would write it up. Possible damage in the hinge pillar area too.
New fender
New door shell
Blend hood
Blend qtr panel
Qtr glass often breaks during r&I, very expensive
Easily 5k

She was kinda wide....I'd show you her drivers license but I think I'll get in trouble

mcphelps 01-01-2015 10:43 AM

I had a door shell replaced and it was $2800.

Here in AZ, on a parking lot accident, the insurance companies determine fault. Mine had to go to an arbitrator, as my insurance company felt the woman that hit me was at fault. She was in a lifted 4X4. I had opened my door as she was pulling into the spot next to me, and she didn't see me. She caught my door and over extended it, creasing it in the process. We ended up responsible for our own repairs.

Sorry to hear, if you are willing to take it to a shop in OC, I can recommend the absolute best place, for sure not cheap, but since insurance is paying: anyway their work is immaculate, great attention to detail, etc

jaedub 01-01-2015 01:25 PM

Thanks for the input guys. At least this incident occurred on the 2014. It would've been a crappy year to start off 2015 if it were to occur then. As for me, I suspect around 4k in damages.

zaimer 01-01-2015 08:52 PM

I'd say at least $3k in damages. My car had a a light scraping and a couple of small dents..over $2K in repairs. And if you think you situation is bad...I posted a week or so ago the "don't exile me" thread. I traded my Z in for a brand new Infiniti Q60S..got backed into Christmas Eve Night. I drove the car off of the showroom the Saturday before. Literally the third time driving my car. :ugh2:. Car is currently in the shop for repairs. Dodge Dart rental FTW

Read T 01-02-2015 01:01 PM

Price is right rules?

$3,001

J/K OP, post pics when she's all back to looking new again!

OEM windshield + deep dent/scratch repair was about 2k with labour for me. about 1800 or so USD.

but do let us know how it goes... request OEM!

Yeah, she was so wide, she didn't see your car.

Sorry for the damage, but at least no one was hurt...

PhantaPhanta 01-09-2015 12:00 AM

Damn man, sorry to see that. I hope other side claims 100% fault. I got into an accident half a year ago with GF's RSX. Pulled out, Stopped as im switching from R to D, this person backs up into our car. My insurance claim 0% at fault, but other side only claimed 50% at fault and so we were only paid 50% of cost. "W.e happens in Parking Lot, its 50-50". Other party was state farm insurance. Ours was geico

axmea? 01-09-2015 01:26 AM

Any update? I've seen your car and you kept it clean. No swirls when I saw it.

Hey Rafael. My insurance is trying to get a hold of the other insurance. I don't know what's taking so long. I've called my insurance multiple times but they don't seem to be too concerned with my case. I already filed a compliant. It has been more than a week with 0 progress. I'll keep the thread posted once I have something going

Man, sucks to hear that. I hope my case doesn't fall into that kind of situation. As for me, I was just simply driving down the parking lot when she unexpectedly pulled out really fast, hitting the side of my beloved Z.
