Don't exile me!...

I did a horrible thing on Saturday..the Z is now gone. I traded her in and purchased my first brand new car off of the showroom floor. I started to have a few small problems with my Z, and I was getting tired of the way it handled on some roads. It would jerk allover, following the different lines, pitches, etc in the road and it sometimes felt difficult to keep it in a straight line. I'm almost certain the tires are to blame, but I wasn't going to change them out because they had life left in them. Along with the undiagnosed ~$600 "sensor issue", I said it was time to go. I also wanted AWD. I truly loved my Z, and it was just as difficult as getting rid of my 350z. Hopefully I can experience the same joy with my new Infiniti. I purchased a new Infiniti Q60S AWD. Infiniti is definitely geared much more towards the luxury side of things, versus Nissan. The ride is great and the power is very smooth. It feels like it has the same power as the Z( which it should, same motor obviously) but its delivered in a much different way. That and I am going from a manual to paddle shifters..I've wanted paddles for a long time but I prefer manual :driving:. The AWD S model is not offered in manual. Anyway, I plan on sticking around here as before..guess I just won't fit in as well! :tiphat:

Congrats on the new ride.

Well let me be the first to congratulate you! I think it looks amazing and the AWD will be a nice bonus. I struggle with wanting a AWD DD / beautiful car like that one or my current situation of having Tina for weekends and DD'ing a 2000 chevy cavalier lol

Beat me by a few seconds... darn it

Very nice, I was actually entertaining a convertible in the same color, but it was just too smooth for me as I wanted a sports car with aggressive looks. That thinks drives on clouds, can barely tell its on. Kudos to you on a great buy.

Congrats! On the new ride.

Looking at your issues with the Z's handling? Sounds like a basic alignment would have taken care of the handling issue. A little late for that now.

Again Congrats!! :)

Tadpole 12-22-2014 01:21 PM

We can't beat you up too much since you stayed in the nissan family so we will all pitch in for two tickets one way to anthrax island. J/K

That was another reason for me to trade in. I've decided after my current "beater" dies, I can't justify buying a second car. The Infiniti is the best of both worlds, it has AWD and there is enough of the Z heritage in it to keep me happy.

:iagree: I am sorry that you allowed a poorly aligned Z and/or bad tires to ruin your experience with an amazing car. But it sounds like you will enjoy your new ride :driving: :tiphat:

Thanks!!

I was actually thinking that too. It didn't seem to be out of alignment though, I could be wrong. It was on certain roads (the highway near my town for example) the car seemed to go where it wanted to go. My girlfriend even once commented about me "keeping the car straight". :icon17:

Oh no, my experience was not ruined at all. I LOVE the Z, and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up in one in the future. It also needed new tires. I just really wanted the AWD and something with a warranty. The Z seemed like it would need a good amount of money stuck in it in the future, and I just couldn't justify that. The Z repairs are $$$$$, especially since I have to go to the Nissan dealer. No other place will touch the car around here. :eekdance:

JARblue 12-22-2014 01:33 PM

Glad to hear it. Hope to see you around

That is a nice ride for sure. However, you should take it back. The interior photo clearly shows that it is missing a pedal. I see only two (not counting the dead pedal). Obviously this is a manufacturing defect.

You picked a great car by the way. Let us know how the dealer handles the pedal issue.

Swindler 12-22-2014 08:15 PM

Congrats!! I have one too, except it's not an AWD, and it was before they changed the name from G37 to Q60. It is a very beautiful car for sure.

did it come with the bow on top at least when you got it?

1LIFE 12-22-2014 09:39 PM

Beautiful car! When I opened your interior pic I got a wiff of PLUSH new leather smell ;)

Benibiker 12-22-2014 10:25 PM

Nice car, always liked the G-37/Q-60.

ajm216 12-23-2014 05:26 AM

Its beautiful, enjoy the ride.

Firebase99 12-23-2014 10:27 AM

That looks almost exactly like the G37....whats new on the Q compared the G?

:icon17: Wanting AWD is one of the reasons I traded. To my knowledge, the AWD+sport package isn't offered in the manual. Paddle shifters are the next best thing :ugh2:

Actually it did, a big silver one. I took a distorted picture of the car while it was in the showroom, so I decided not to upload that one.

Edit: I did upload one of the pics from the showroom -_-

Essentially, yes. I don't think they changed much from the G37 besides the badging. :shakes head:. The redesigned Q60 is supposed to come out in 2016 (I confirmed with my Infiniti manager, he thinks summer), and I already have plans of getting that. The only differences I noticed are the sport package wheels (gorgeous), and the Q60 has a more aggressive front end (again, on the sport package anyway) vs the G37. Other than that, I don't believe they have changed much.

**Basically the same as the "redesign" on the Z's, but Infiniti chose to put a different badge on it too.
