Only way the Z loses significant weight is to go smaller like a s2k or change to lighterweight materials which could push costs up. Either way, the possibility of a factory turbo'ed 3.0 v6 has me anticipating official release news before deciding on SC or not for the z34.

Here is a spy photo of the next Z. It's power plant is very green. A set of pedals for your feet to pump.

Would have been cool if they developed a newer version of the twin turbo motor from the z32 to be put in the 370z.
Make it a 330 twin turbo machine... hell even a 300hp twin turbo machine. Doesn't matter, upgrade the turbos and a tune... :driving: |

Just my 2 cents... Why not just make a damn version of our VQ37 but 3.0 TT.... they can use the same GT-R TT setup... we know that our engines are strongest enough to hold 500hp on FI setup with out forged internals... im not saying that the Z have to come with 500hp  but at least 350hp i think it would be great.... I know is the same HP that the 370z Nismo have but hey... is a 3.0 FI... you put some intakes, exhaust, few psi more and a tune... trust me you are going to have some good numbers on your dyno sheet.... My opinion is that Nissan do not have to use and MB engine on the new Z... they have a lot of good engines like the SR20, RB25, RB26... for say some engines that they make... Anyway we are going to wait to see finally what Nissan are going to do with Z platform... |
^ there are no cai's on a FI motor. But I get what your saying. :driving:

But anyway thanks for correct me  |
I think its odd that some of the renderings are based on the Maxima concept... I don't think the Z will have that terrible grill...
My guess is, very similar lines to current and a front fascia more similar to the latest Nismo. They are unlikely to deviate from the classic sports car coupe profile. I'm expecting maybe 40-50 kg lighter (thanks mainly to even more aluminium), a turbo 4 option that makes much more torque and slightly less top end (resulting in a Z that is marginally quicker than current) with a N/A V6 option that is probably a re-tooled VQ, making 350+ bhp and at least as much torque as the four banger, for even better performance. They could offer Nismo options for each that includes better aero/suspension, the snazzy badges, and slightly tweaked power -- just like they do now. All of that is do-able with stuff from the Nissan parts bin, and it is in keeping with the rumors that are most frequently cited (and also least absurd). If they are serious about the two engine options, then it will come down to price, which is easier to mod (in theory, the turboed motor, but who knows...), etc. If they do the T4 vs. V6 option it is worth noting that this recipe didn't work so well for the Gen coupe... Isn't the Tokyo Auto show in January? They better get the concept ready... |

They already made up their minds by now. Like G37 preceded the the 370, so goes the Q50. V6 hybrid. Watch.

Its not THAT big of a deal for me because the odds of me getting the new Z are really slim. Im recently married and 26. Its time for kids and **** :shakes head: I would have to do an astronomical amount of :icon23: kissing to my wife for her to not immediately say "no" when I even say "Z" lol. |
