UPDATE:

My co worker has a 1997 Honda Accord with about 170k miles on it, hes selling it for $3,000 I think im going to have to buy it. For $3,000 my options are very slim.

It will give me time to save up and fix my credit and still get to/from work and around town.

For $3,000 I dont have many beater cars options.

I found a 2006 mini cooper S with 34k miles for sale for $8,900.

Are they nice cars?

no.

Seriously though, get over your ego and buy a used 06-12' civic SI (but really get a corolla it's cheaper), fix your credit score, save some doe and work your game without a fancy car.

Who knows.. maybe by next year they will announce the z35 and the 34's will go down in value a bit. Is that not a double win for you? You have a cheaper Z, lower finance rate. Plus that game you honed with the fancy car to boot.

Or you know... join the debt servitude circle just so you can have your minute of fame in front of your 'friends'

A 06-12 civic SI is like 10-13k.... not exactly a "beater" hondas hold their value well. A civic made after 06 (non SI) is still close to 10k.

If im gonna get a beater my budget is $4,000. I need to save as much $ as I can for a year.

I bought a 93 Ford probe for 800 bucks. Few dings and scratches, but she lasted me 2 years with just putting in a cv axel shaft. Thing ran like a champ! What ever you buy, just make sure a mechanic checks it out first.

If im gonna get a beater I wanna "blend in" I dont want people to think I think I have a cool car. Miatas kinda stick out like "hey look at me in my sporty car" so Ill have to avoid riced out civics as well.

get a bicycle, because you don't know what the hell you want... go to auto trader and put in the maximum you wish to spend. check the box where it says manual and click search.
