Thank you so much man! Means a lot!

I wanting to pick one of these up for the wife and I when we pay off our vehicles. I have a Z and she has a Genesis Coupe. I hate her car lol. Anyway we need a 4 door and something more practical than our cars. I'm keeping the Z though lol.

mab864 11-01-2014 10:18 PM

STi are pretty amazing little cars. I would own one. I love the sound of those suckers with an unequal header. I think it's one of the coolest exhaust notes around. I test drove a '13 before I bought the Z too. I was impressed. Decided to go true sports car route, but an STi is way more practical. Congrats on the new ride and be careful around the cops. I hear the STi is the most ticketed car in America!

Dcocci 11-01-2014 10:36 PM

That car looks right in red. Nice ride man. Those cars are monsters with an exhaust and a tune

Digital neOn 11-01-2014 11:23 PM

That is a stunning car. I'm a bit jealous.

MagmaRed370z 11-01-2014 11:40 PM

That's so awesome man, congratulations sick car! Here in Denver is Subie territory! Post more pics of the sweet ride!

NoLaKrewe 11-02-2014 12:43 AM

I hate this thread so much. I hate how nice we are. I hate how good of a community we have here. I hate that I am still waiting for a few more funds to clear before I buy my Z. I hate that as of lately I've been debating the STI. I hate that this car in red just rekindled those feelings.

On a real note, congrats on the new car man. She's a beauty and you're bound to have lots of fun. I can't wait for my new car smell soon enough. A red Z is my aim.

On another side note, I've never owned a red car. Is it myth or fact that insurance is more on that color?

Limeybastard 11-02-2014 12:58 AM

Nice car nice color. Would have gone same combo also. The rumble of the boxer flat 4 is luscious.

I agree my man! As soon as I heard the exhaust note of the boxer engine and heard the BOV as I changed gears, I was hooked. And yes, it is most definitely the most ticketed car in America and I got it in red. Go big or go home haha.

I can't wait to mod it! The fact I'm looking at +100whp/tq just with turbo back, CAI, and Cobb access port/custom tune is almost unbelievable. With my G and Z, I've always been 60-70tq away from my actual hp number.

I appreciate it man! No reason to be jealous. You guys are still family and I just wanted to share my experience with you all. If you can afford a Z, I'm sure you could get one if you really wanted! But both a great.

This post is probably my favorite. I've been on this tread for a year and I didn't have a clue as to how you guys would respond to my decision. But I loved my Z and my community. I just wanted to let everyone know why I traded. I can't get over how nice everyone has been.
I've said this many times in the last few days, but seeing this color on the car changed my mind. I was on the fence about it visually until I saw the red STi in person. Thank you so much man. My advice is to drive both cars and see what fits your life better. The one that truly makes you smile and gives you that "little kid Christmas morning joy" is the one you purchase.
I'm here to confirm that the red color being higher is a myth. I was floored when I falled my insurance company last week and found out. Then again, it might vary from company to company. Good luck and post here when you make your decision!

I love cockpit, looks really well designed. Everything I see an STi running around town I think "hmmm, wonder if that could be my next ride?"

Alright, I need to stop checking in this thread. The pictures are giving me back the thought I once had of trading in my Z for the STI.

Must leave now...while it's still safe lol

Hahahaha! You guys are cracking me up.

scorp38 11-02-2014 02:39 PM

That's the move a lot of people seem to make 370z to sti or vise versa. The red has always looked the best on these, I still can't figure out why they stopped making them in red in the last generation blows my mind, get rid of the best looking color.

danegrey 11-02-2014 03:08 PM

nice, enjoy your new ride

ProfessorDave 11-03-2014 12:44 PM

OP, did you take those pictures in front of a church? You didn't marry your STi, did you?!? Well, that's probably still legal there in Tennessee. They outlawed that kind of stuff here in Pennsyltucky years ago. Except for pickup trucks...you can still marry your pickup truck here I'm pretty sure.

Seriously, nice car, nice color. I agree with Kenchan about the no hatchback option being a minus for this year, though. I always liked the way they looked.

zguynate 11-03-2014 04:13 PM

I live in TN, and I'm trying to get a divorce from my wife so I can marry the Z. Its cheaper.

BasementBobby 11-03-2014 04:39 PM

Good luck bud. Went from a legacy GT to a 370z and I'm sure as you know it's two completely different types of fun. Have fun, man.

Do you really think it's legal? I've only known her for a few days. IMO it's always good to take things slow and not rush it. But seriously lol, thanks man. And I love the hatch. I'm sure they'll bring it back. It's loved by too many.

Thanks man! I've never had a 4 door and wanted to fulfill that desire and it snows a good amount here. I really needed AWD with as far as I drive to work. I'm so excited to bolt and tune it. I'm hoping for impressive gains.

trading in for a sti... always liked that car

MightyBobo 11-04-2014 02:30 PM

People say this like it's bad. Not like either are bad choices lol

Amuse370z 11-04-2014 04:38 PM

I really like the STI from certain angles, the turbo and AWD offers something different than my Z, but every time I look at that Amuse kit, I know I can't give her up.

With that said, winter is coming and I'm not looking forward to driving my beat POS.

Best case scenario would be to have a Z and a STI for snow, moving stuff, passengers, etc.

Thinking of a used BRZ/FRS because I still want a good looking car (preferably japanese) that I can slightly mod. :\ But why, its basically a crappier Z.

S2000 is a much better car than brz/FRS if you aren't hostile towards Hondas more power and more torque and much better build quality.

I was in the same dilemma. I was on Instagram and saw all these people taking one last shot of their Z with their car cover half on saying goodbye until the winter weather disappears. I'm not one to garage my car and I'm not one to drive a daily. I'd rather put the money I'd spend on a daily into my main chick!
