I think other factors always play in. How long you have had them, how big they are. What TYPE of damage as well |

Learn to drive with your ears, not your eyes - don't even look at the tach. For obvious reasons, turn the radio off so you can hear the motor better. Once you can go for a solid stretch without stalling in a parking lot, move onto public back roads with as many stop signs as possible. Come to a FULL 100% STOP for EVERY single stop sign. Drive around this area for at least an hour. For every time you stall, add another 5 minutes. And finally, the more you think about it, the worse you'll be. It needs to become muscle memory. If you are playing the, "I'll just stare at my tach and keep my RPMs above a certain point..." game, you're wrong. |

But yea, that's a big misconception, the whole thing about airbags being deployed means the car is totaled. That is so not true. It doesn't take much damage for them to go off. An insurance company isn't going to total a car and eat 50k dollars when there was only 10k in damages, just because airbags are deployed. |

And it talks about how to reset the system if you get an airbag light illuminated on the dash *And if anyone is wondering about the price of an airbag, Courtesy Nissan has them listed for $545 a piece. There are a total of 4 airbags in our Z's. |
Wow........it's crazy what a little reading will do for you.
I can feel the OP's pain in battling a total loss with such minor fender bender damage. |

adjuster just came, he said the front bumper headlights hood etc is at 9k worth of damage right now, he didn't even look into the engine yet, he still has to do the rear of the car, he said he will make it his job to total out the car. also which i didn't know, this car is under 6 months old from time of purchase. WE BARLEY MADE IT, we got the car may 1st, nov 1st would be exactly 6 months, accident happened oct 24th. we got the car for 31500, the adjuster is soo nice he got the price up to 33k, so we get 33k plus 3k for nys tax. hell yeah.
