Hello and Guess what?????

To all here I am a active member on Bimmerforums but had to come in and give you all some info..... I have a buddy with the new 370z and recently blew his motor. So.....our local dealer had nissan corporate come out and inspect the car and advised my buddy that the car shows signs of abuse!!!!! lmao WTF are those commercials they have on T.V with nissans going side ways. Lame Lame. Now I read that there is OIL temp issues which makes me think thats the problem since my buddy likes to drive his cars hard. What do you guys think about this?

2theextreme 09-26-2009 05:25 PM

I think this has been discussed about 2000 times already and if this becomes another "Oil Temp" thread, it's gonna be locked before the end of the day. So, in that case....IBTL.

Also, your "buddy" is a moron......thats why there is something called a "break-in" period. Even after that, who drives a car to the ground? He needs one of these:

Really staggered, we appreciate you joining up to warn us of a potential problem. No joke, the effort you put in was more than I would do for other people, so thanks again.
But yeah, we are all pretty aware of the issues with the car.

Crash 09-26-2009 05:42 PM

Leave it to a Beemer guy to jump all over this... LOL

And yeah, his buddy's a moron. I'm not saying you shouldn't drive a car hard, but you should know how to use your gauges. :D

Crash 09-26-2009 05:48 PM

LOL! It wouldn't surprise me at all if the oil pressure was in the red, the oil temp was in the red, and the car was in limp mode and he was STILL beating the crap out of it...

"I'm gunna getcha! I'm gunna blow you up!!!"

spearfish25 09-26-2009 05:50 PM

We have no idea what his buddy did or didn't do. All I can say is 'thanks for the info". Unfortunately all car models will have engine failures and other mechanical problems. Life is short and we can't live worrying about every little thing. Those of us who own the Z should just enjoy it. If a bad day comes and our engine blows, we'll deal with it. Until then, there's no point in worrying. Not like I can give mine back to Nissan now anyway.

He never really said that, nor do we know.

We do know that his buddy is a Moron if things were so obvious that the corporate guys blamed it on abuse.....:shakes head:

Ah man, where is my popcorn crew.:drama:

ssqpolo 09-26-2009 06:28 PM

haha! oh no he didnt. all i can say is wow! not only do we have a better car--better looking, better handling, and all around faster (assuming e46), etc...he wants to come to this forum and talk ****! especially when his m3 is also known for having ALOT of issues.

STAGGERED M3 09-26-2009 06:47 PM

BMW realizes they have a street legal race car in the street unlike nissan that sells a 370Z TO CRUISE THE BEACH. If you were to race the 370Z nissan and screw something up they will tell you it was abused and not take care of your problems. Sucks to be you guys

STAGGERED M3 09-26-2009 06:52 PM

I really didn't come here to be arguing about who's car is better. I came to notify you guys of a problem that was going on. Why the engine blew is yet to be told to my buddy since nissan didn't give him a reason and only told him it was not going to cover under warranty. Yet the car has no aftermarket parts whats so ever. Now why you guys started with your ******** I have no clue but I must come back with something.

Because your friend sounds like he took the car beyond a normal car or did something stupid and hoped Nissan would cover up a mistake he made.
There are people here who have blown their engine and guess what...Nissan replaced it, shocking.

STAGGERED M3 09-26-2009 07:02 PM

What is considered beyond a normal car cause last time I checked it a sports car that they advertise drifting and taking turns and doing all sorts of unnormal car moves! My buddies E46 M3 took 100 times more of a beating than this car and its still running. Seems like Nissan is hiding something they messed up.

Actually you, or your friend, are. What exactly did he do to his car? Was this on a track? Street driving in the country? You come here talking about the car failing and Nissan voiding his warranty because he drove it a little hard. That is BS Nissan would do that, but if there are clear indications that the car went beyond its normal limits then you are driving in the <1% group and if you are doing it on the street then that is even worse.

So, what exactly happened to his car?
~High oil temps?
~Low oil pressure?
~Fuel starvation?
~Transmission failure?
~Something else?

No, it is because you have presented ZERO facts about what your friend did with his car so far. Either say what he did or leave, you have done nothing but troll and spit rubbish.

Oooo, a new twist on the plot.
New thread idea, lets all say what really happened.

They were both street racing, the Z won and he wanted to test drive it to see what was so great. He drove it fast, hard, and rough and blew the transmission, then came here to bitch about how are car sucks.

Fuck yeah, that super cape adds like 20HP, even though yesterday mine was in the dry cleaners with this M3 rolled up in 20s and wanted to go from a 30 roll. I was like, "nah man my cape is off."
