Check to see if the entrance have security cameras that caught the incident.

If so, you can tell the lady you have this on film and it'll be in her best interest to tell the truth.

Yes she was about to exit but she was not even close to the stop sign. Only reason her car stopped was because it came in contact with my car.

I'm at the scene right now but no sign of any cameras.... Sucks asz!

jpkirk 08-21-2014 03:09 PM

Are there businesses in the area that might have cameras point in that direction? Does not take much resolution to see what happened in this case.

Ghostvette 08-21-2014 03:12 PM

You didn't happen to take pictures of the accident when it happened, did you? If so, her 'claim' is shot dead in the backside...

damn...so sorry...go door to door with the businesses in that general area and ask...ya never know

Sorry to be a devil's advocate but since there were no other witnesses (aside from your camera shots) and you were making a left you are technically liable for not giving right-of-way due to not having enough time to 'safely' make your turn... that's the BS that may possibly happen. For example I had a friend who was in an intersection light was red, so he proceeded to make a left, a d-bag decided he could still make the light (it was already red) and t-boned. My friend was 'at fault' when the other driver clearly ran the red-light.

Then again if it was a stop-sign and she failed to stop that's another story.

JARblue 08-21-2014 03:41 PM

After seeing the intersection, her lie is a little more viable. There is no stop sign. The markings on the ground are not enforceable traffic signals, unfortunately. If she was in her lane when the collision occurred, that makes it he-said-she-said. Sucks man. GL with everything.

My argument if it went to court would be that you have to take that entrance so slow, that you are giving yourself significantly more time to cross the intersection. You couldn't have possibly been moving fast enough to do that amount of damage to both cars without ripping off your front bumper on the driveway entrance at the same time.

I've checked around the whole building, nothing...just my luck

I did, but only after we moved the cars a few feet away where it's safe from other cars

They all do that. None of them want to pay to fix one car, much less two. Of course Mercury will take her side.

Of course I'm sure the only reason she's even changing her story is because someone pointed out that an argument against you is viable. Yeah, no report, no proof, it's pretty much going to be up to a judge at this point. I would say you have a couple of facts in your favor, but as to whether they will help is going to be up to your lawyer.

Good luck man!

mishuko 08-21-2014 04:05 PM

Yea I really hope she gets screwed for changing her story. It's brutal to have to deal with all the head ache.

FairladyZ10PG 08-21-2014 04:21 PM

Yea, it's pretty much up to my lawyer now. He was basically saying the same thing that it's not gonna be an easy case. I just feel bad for actually feeling any kind of sympathy for this lady. f'ing stabbed in the back
