She should not own a Z
I went to park my z where i usually park for work. I notice another 370z where i park so i parked right next to the z(excited to take pic together of the car). I saw an old lady in the driver seat. To tell you the truth i was not expecting that but she looked at me! Like every z owner do when they see another z we say wat up or compliment each other!! Which i did!! I gave a wave and smile but nope in return she starred me down and my car and looked the other way!!!! Me personally people like that should just walk or ride a skooter!!!!!! Has this ever happen to you guys??if yes share!!!

All the time, half the owners in south Florida are old and that's coming from a guy in his 40s! I've never seen a young person driving a vert around here.

Another waive thread... Owning the same shirt (this was not a typo) as someone does not make you best friends.
|
Well, you do live in New York.....:icon17:
Just kidding. I grew up in the area..... |

When you approached her, cognitive dissonance washed over her being and she saw you not as the fantasy boy-toy she could keep tucked away in her memories, but as a real person. Her subconscious took over and, against her will, kicked in her defense mechanisms of stoicism and aloofness. This image of you and what she could do to and with you became sudden and harsh reality and she could not handle it so she shut down. This happens to me almost daily. Of course, maybe she is just a b!tch. There's always that. |

Dude, I live in Florida... FLOR-AH-DUH. They post notices on highways here called "Silver Alerts", which apparently means a cognitively impaired senior has gone astray  If she was lucid and reasonably sighted, no need for a Rascal just yet :icon17: She saw you and recognized the car so that's a good sign. |

You are clearly disappointed that your expectations were not met. Maybe you should not expect too much or change your approach like say something nice about her car instead of a wave. Then again, onzedge may be onto something.

Back in NORCAL where I grew up my friends grandmother around the corner drove a bright red 300zx vert. Let's say he never heard the end of it about how smokin his GILF was driving that beauty around. I'm pretty sure she was well into her 50's but mmmmmm..mmmmm. This was also like circa 1999 ish.

For many people a car is just a car, not a brotherhood. I hardly see 370s on the road here. I met someone that lives in my neighborhood (only 373 homes) with a Monterey Blue coupe and I have the roadster in MB. I pulled in his driveway and tried to drum up a conversation. He was like "it's a pretty cool car, nice to meet you. See ya."
|
A lot of people where I live are native from NYC and are just like Londoners, boring stuck up farts with attitudes to boot.
|
Generally, when people approach me in public I assume they want something from me, perhaps my car, my wallet, or maybe just a handout.
I don't really engage these people that much. If a guy with a Z pulled up like that and said "Nice car" I'd say thanks and that would be it. I don't really enjoy that "Hey you and me bought the same car, so we should be friends" thing. |
You know who shouldn't own a Z? Immature kids that drive like a**holes, cut their mufflers off and straight pipe, and plasti-dip their 'rims' because they're cheap. Sadly as our cars depreciate, this will be more common. Case in point, the 350z.
I'd rather have her own the Z. |

Go away, kid, you bother me. :ugh2: |
Yea she probably acted like a cun+, but the forum must have to make up for a small amount of Z owners in real life. I felt like the Z cars were the frs/brz before they existed, meaning a lot of people bought them for looks and then there were the enthusiasts after. If that makes sense, its like the people that buy the frs/brz cause they look cool, and then there's those guys that bought it cause they handle well or whatever that cars good at lol.

Maybe the arthritis in her shoulder prevents her from waiving pain-free?
