cooltoy 08-06-2014 09:01 PM

They did not think of removing the stock wing?

aszyd 08-06-2014 09:07 PM

That's hella-functional, yo!

kittens 08-06-2014 09:51 PM

lol it would be really nice looking if the giant mutant alien ship thing was gone from the back

Virtual 08-06-2014 09:56 PM

I never understood why people put on those huge spoilers in the first place, I know its for downforce but cmon dude look at your car. I'm also that guy that doesn't like blacked out tail lights either lol

edit: the last time the huge wings looked cool were back in these days lol

That's got be photoshopped.

dP3NGU1N 08-06-2014 10:44 PM

I don't see what's wrong with it. I'm assuming it's welded to the frame. If this person actively tracks his car, what's the big deal? Unless one of you guys knows that this person isn't active on the track?

Just seems like a lot of hate going around for no reason.

What is rice anymore, anyway? It used to be a blanket statement for tuner cars that were all show and no go. These days it seems like it's for anyone who does anything differently. It's no wonder we see the same mods over and over again. Anyone who does something different get crucified.

Zoren 370 08-06-2014 11:40 PM

I agree with you man 100%. Where not haters...I believe everyone is just having fun!
A red neck called my Z a rice compared to his big truck.
I did not take offense I even told him "thank you in fact I eat rice everyday"

DavidZ370 08-07-2014 01:04 AM

that thing looks like it would have great WIFI.

TheGreatOne 08-07-2014 01:20 AM

rest of the car looking good....

wish I could see it from another angle...I hope it does create enough downforce to use it

Just to prove it's not all hate, I appreciate the effort it took to get the car's finish looking so great!

Duc_Z09 08-07-2014 06:27 AM

I think a critical part of "rice" is the mods have to be nonfunctional and/or poorly executed... like you squirted glue all over a Civic and then drove it through a Pep Boys.

Sadly, there's still a lot of it out there. Not sure if this one qualifies though.

Davey 08-07-2014 06:37 AM

If the wing doesn't work, it's rice.

Thing is, the wing is big enough to actually work. And ugly.

So, it's pretty ugly either way, right? :ugh2:

But if the guy is winning races with it because it's a race car then that's OK.

Or maybe he's just driving it around on the street and bolts the Kitty Hawk to his car exclusively for shows... :ugh2:

What I'm saying is, I think we need more information, but either way that wing is pretty ugly.

KrisL 08-07-2014 07:57 AM

Obviously this guy is a sports fan. That's why he installed a mobile eating surface on the back of his car for the maximum tailgate experience. No longer will he have to search for a place to rest his drink when it's burger time.

6spd 08-07-2014 08:43 AM

For all we know, the guy could be an exceptional track driver, far better than any of us will ever be. So without the right context...

JWillis72 08-07-2014 09:20 AM

The wing itself is the same APR wing I have on my car but mine is mounted to the trunk hatch. It helps a ton on the track but has some movement as it compresses the weather stripping of the hatch so that set up most likely works better. Mounting it back more also gives it more leverage for the down force. I don't like how it looks but I bet it works.

Zteve 08-07-2014 09:22 AM

:shakes head: does not look stable at all

Would mounting it that far back possibly unload the fronts some?

kenchan 08-07-2014 10:02 AM

It could but our cars are front heavy so I dont think it would.

kenchan 08-07-2014 10:05 AM

They could have made it a lot better to look at with some shape.

Mr&Mrs 08-07-2014 11:01 AM

The worst thing about this show was the brunettes hair at the bottom of the pictures, da fuq?

mishuko 08-07-2014 11:09 AM

I don't think this qualifies as RICE as there is some non-cosmetic applications in no particular order:

1) A bench - who needs to bring foldie chairs now!
2) A coffee table - for meets like the one the guy's at... dont' want to rest the cups on that nice paint!
3) A ladder - just incase you need to reach those hard spots in the garage
4) A push bar - Assuming there is winter and it gets stuck it'll provide formidible grip to push and or pull
5) A fap handle - because some of us just go a little too hard...

not knocking the driver's skills... I'm pretty sure I would get dummied with my absolute lack lustre techniques.

FairladyZ10PG 08-07-2014 11:25 AM

I don't know DE, I didn't see that much rice other than the few cars mentioned....I still prefer this than herrafrush :ugh2:

Edit: I was wrong...Now that I look closer, I see what DE was talking about.

I have taken many pictures like this. I have special black lights to illuminate them with.
