2014 370Z kinda small getting inside of car

I got my brother into buying a New 2014 Black Basic 370Z manual trans
cost $27,700
He loves the car and loves the pickup
Myself I am 6ft2in and its very hard getting into and out the 370Z
Once inside my head hits the top and little room to move around.
Same goes when I am in the passenger side there is little room
I like the car and it does look hotttt
Myself I find it more easy to get into and out of my 2012 Dodge Challenger RT.
Glad He is happy with the 370Z but I will be buying a 2015 Challenger Shaker where I am able to get in and out of lol.............JT

I am 6'2" 210 lbs and have no problem. Lots of head and leg room. You need to tilt the seat back and you will not have any problems.

Not every car is for everyone. Personally I wouldn't be caught dead in a Dodge. But it's a free country.

MagmaRed370z 07-31-2014 10:48 PM

I am a big guy and have no issues getting in or out. You need to adjust the seat properly. I agree I have no desire of having ANY dodge vehicle. Ever.

DEpointfive0 07-31-2014 10:52 PM

I'm taller and fatter than you. Lol

I might look a tad jackass getting in and out, but I live with it, so stop complaining!

:bowrofl: i dont see you having trouble but I do remember you avoiding to test fit karotz racing seat.

aszyd 07-31-2014 10:57 PM

As I tell people who complain about how low my car sits and how difficult getting in and out is. You must learn to fall into the car, it's an art. Also, use your arm to brace yourself against the seat when exiting.

Watch a video of people getting in and out of an Elise. You talk about difficult...

cooltoy 07-31-2014 11:03 PM

That's a good description "fall in". It requires grace and athleticism. Falling in without looking like you are falling.

Because I sat in one ONCE and it was so uncomfortable. I tell you that I fear most sitting in other peoples' cars because I'm afraid they're really anal (like you, lol) and they're thinking, "Oh shít... This fat fúck is totally gonna crease my leather."

Can we just tack this thread onto the gas mileage thread?:shakes head:

Seriously? Thats not photoshopped?

brancky3 08-01-2014 06:54 AM

It's a lot easier to get in and out of if you have the space to open the door all the way, it's a little annoying for me to get in and out in my garage with another car in it.

onzedge 08-01-2014 07:23 AM

I am 6' 4" and 225 pounds. I have no issues with getting in and out of them and have been driving Z cars for more than 30 years.

A lot of people will tell you that they are bigger, fatter, more powerful than you and yet have no problems getting in and out of their 370Zs. Ignore these people, for they are not you. Only you know what you feel upon ingress and egress from your brother's 370Z. Our bodies are all different, and there is no way to know how different until we all oil up and roll around in a big pit with one another. Who's with me? :yum:

mab864 08-01-2014 08:02 AM

The Z is a 2 seat ground up sports car. That's a lot different than a larger 4 seat muscle car. I drove lots of sport/muscle cars before choosing the Z. Any low car is difficult to get out of. Head & shoulder room once you get in is another story. I'm 6'2" and 200 lbs. I have the seat as low as it will go in the Z and I've got a couple inches of headroom. I'll stick with the Z. Good on you to choose the car that best fits your needs! Good luck!!

On that note I'm 6'3 and about 215 pounds. I have never had any problems
in either getting in and out of my Z. As far as issues... There are many others..
But at least I'm in therapy for...for.... now....

Yeah, I have a plentitude of issues, Z cars are not one.

No lube is good. I also do not use lube......

Davey 08-01-2014 12:08 PM

I get in an out through the hatch. Sometimes if I want to make it easy on myself, I actually open the hatch first.

You should get a roadster... and goggles... yes I see goggles on you.

That would be like Lurch :driving: down the highway. You could put a wing on your head for a little extra down force.

All I can say is that I'm 5'9", and the car that fits me perfect. I like a more upright driving position. I've read many times on the forum that people don't like the side mirrors because they obstruct their vision. It all makes sense now, all you tall guys drive around like you are lying down in your bed no wonder the mirrors get in the way.

Finally an advantage of not being tall.

FOr what it's worth my Lexus IS250 was no picnic for tall people either, maybe Japanese cars are just not made for big americans.

I'm surprised no one has commented on this--unless OP means little room to move his head. I doubt anyone bought a Z to be able to sprawl out inside. I love that I can easily reach everything I need.

I'm 6'1" and have more than enough room once I'm in the driver's seat. Entry and exit was a huge complaint for me until I noticed I'm having some difficulty getting in and out of other cars. I finally had to admit that my entry/exit issues with the Z is far more likely due to my back problems than with the design of the Z. Still, I sure wish Nissan had given me a little more headroom getting in and out.

I have no visibility issues due to the size of the mirrors. Visibility to the rear is another issue entirely  I'm guessing Nissan made the outside mirrors so large in an effort to ameliorate the limited visibility to the rear.

I almost ran into some old lady in a Corolla because she was behind the mirror at a 3-way stop.

The gigantic mirror blind spot is real.

jpkirk 08-01-2014 03:03 PM

It's a bob and weave every corner. I learned it well in my '02 Dakota Sport with the giant side mirrors and mondo A pillars. So the Z doesn't bother me in the least.
