I had been thinking this was a positive....

The AT is just down shifting for you after you let your foot off the gas.. that way when you accelerate again, it's just ready and waiting to explode forward... i mean, the trans is pretty much just begging you accelerate again. god, it's pretty much the whole reason i bought the AT... and if you don't accelerate, and end up breaking... well then it doesn't really matter. IMHO, this just isn't the car to coast in, it wants to be ridden hard.

Yeah the 7AT is little more edgy. The shifts are a more solid at times depending on how you're driving. It's actually one of the things I like about the car. Could we say that its a slush box without being too slushy? Refinement can go too far in my opinion where the mechanics of a car become so masked and hidden that the ride becomes too quiet, too cushy, too smooth, simply numbing and boring. Definitely not the 370z.

My gf actually drives a g37 sedan and I had to explain to her what was going on. She had never been in a car that applied engine breaking(her previous car was a 2003 corolla). I had to reassure her that there was nothing "broken" with her car. It's interesting because it seems a lot of companies are changing over to this. I have a 2002 bmw x5 which does not do this..But my mothers 2009 bmw x5 does. As does my fathers 2008 bmw 650i.

Put it in manual mode and go hard it just loves to be driven and when changing down manually ,blip, blp, blp the rev matching capabilities are truly inspiring I have to say
