So, she is coming from Russia. Staying for how long? How many bags? How big? Not sure what a Z would look like with a luggage carrier on the roof. Might impact its drag coefficient a bit. I'd get an M3 instead.

Greeting's Jpkirk, I daily drive my 2010 PW Nismo.. At about 66,000 miles
added a brand new 2013 Silver Nismo at zero miles... I buy sports cars
to drive them... I rented the GT R to experience a once in a lifetime event..
If I bought a GT R within the first year the mileage would be 20,000 miles..

I wonder if they have this in the DC area. I would find it a great way to get my jollies in a car I can't really afford. I'm just thinking the OP, limited to 75 miles a day $3.00 for every additional mile, would have a smokin' bill at the end of the ride to Missouri from NY. And then how to get it back to NY.

But it would be great fun.

Give it a once in a lifetime try... Your time and memory are priceless...

In this case, it's more about the specific sentimental value of the 370Z between us than it is about a supercar experience, so I'd sooner take a generic rental if I can't find the right one.

Btw, thank you for the suggestion of RelayRides - nice concept, but unfortunately it does not look like any Z selection to speak of in the area near JFK airport, which I found a bit odd. Only one guy's car came up within 100 miles, which was unsuitable. The other problem with RelayRides is that they assume you'll be returning the car to the same location - that won't work in this case since I'll need to return the car in St Louis (unless I keep it long enough for the entire 2 week period, but that would get pricey). That is why I first looked at all the usual suspects of Hertz, Enterprise, etc.

So today I went to Lou Fusz in St Louis asking about car rentals since someone had mentioned that some dealerships can rent and deal with other dealerships possibly similar to how places like Enterprise work. They looked at me strangely and said they'd help, but I really doubt I'll get a callback on that.
