How much attention does your 370z get?

Unshamefully copied and pasted from the 370z Nismo section as I could not find a similar thread for us non Nismo folks.http://www.the370z.com/nismo-370z/44...nismo-get.html

I love my 370z and think it looks great, but I had no idea it would be getting so much attention on the street when I bought it. Maybe I am just so used to the look of the Z (350 and 370) that I don't think it stands out so much, but man I swear it is almost like I am driving a Ferrari.

I have been getting so many looks, and so many people coming up to me and saying "Wow beautiful car" and things along that line... I swear if at any point in the future I go 1 week without somebody saying something or staring me down I will feel like something is off

Sometimes I feel like this car would be perfect for a pedophile because young boys ( girls for me ) seems to especially love the nismo

(disclaimer: I am not a pedophile, just sayi
n)

When stopped at a stop light, my passengers usually notice people checking out the car. But they do it discreetly by staying at my blind spot so I can't see them :D

njobe89 07-02-2014 12:59 PM

i personally haven't seen anyone check it out... just people at work tell me it's nice

ShutokuZ 07-02-2014 01:16 PM

Not so much here in LA or the Marina as there are nicer cars everywhere, and everyone is pretty immune to nice cars by now. The most looks I get are ones parked next to me at a light, and I always notice them looking at the wheels/brake calipers.

ive noticed that too. some people in the next lane will not pull all the way up to the light or the car in front of them so they can look at the z

It's great to hear that your 370Z gains many looks and smiles. Here is
one for you... Last year I had Mike The Powder Coater and forum member
as well powder coat my brake calipers in a Inferno Orange color..
I swear this took the looks and smiles to another level.
Enjoy and daily your 370Z.

jofro6 07-02-2014 01:43 PM

I get some looks, not tons though considering I work in a pretty well off area. When I drive through the other areas randomly though, I do get the looks for sure though :) Makes me feel all tingly inside haha

aszyd 07-02-2014 01:46 PM

Very little. I suspect I would get more attention in a lifted bro-truck around here. Although, some dude did compliment my wheels yesterday, as I was leaving Home Depot.

axmea? 07-02-2014 01:49 PM

Common issue.

:iagree:

I usually park away from the door bangers when I take the Z to the store. I regularly see people walk by craning there necks around to look. It is a great looking car. While I live in a fairly nice area, Z's and especially 370Z's are not seen very often. Here, they are unique. I like that.

Got_Z 07-02-2014 03:41 PM

How much attention does your 370z get?

Not sure if it's just the bright *** blue color but I get compliments and turn heads literally every time I stop for gas. I remember once an older gentleman just say inside the passenger seat without asking to "check out the interior". Kind of creeped me out. Lol

People look at the Z cause it's not a very common vehicle, unlike the boring mustangs and Camaros........I actually turn the other way when I see those.

You can add Challengers and Vettes to that as well. Driving from Kingman to Vegas just about every other car is one of these 4.

Davey 07-02-2014 04:26 PM

Around here, Z's are not very common. A few times, I'll be driving on I-70 and wondering why some idiot is pacing me and swerving all over the place and my wife will be like "He's saying 'nice car!' and I smile and wave and say "Thanks, please don't crash into it OK?" :D

ayrton88 07-02-2014 04:55 PM

I've mentioned in other threads the excess attention it gets is one of the only things I don't like about the Z. I should have known better because it sure got my attention right away. I'd rather be a little more discreet. I was used to BMW coupes and sedans which don't draw so much attention. That said, I do appreciate a car that isn't in the shop every other week. Man, Bimmer quality really sucks.

Malm 07-02-2014 05:10 PM

Once in a while someone checks it out on the road. I can go a few days without seeing another 370.. but usually see at least 1 350 a day. And 99% of the time so far, the Z's "look" stock, and the owner usually could give a #$@# that there is another Z on the road with them.

grandpawmoses 07-02-2014 05:10 PM

Here's what happened with a recent stop in Mississippi.

Werd, Mad Bitches

Haboob 07-02-2014 06:17 PM

Rarely (that I see anyways) do I get comments or looks.

davwak 07-02-2014 06:46 PM

Not much attention at all so far (not that I've noticed). Maybe I'm just too busy having a lot of fun driving. :)

Chejuan 07-02-2014 10:18 PM

I've had some stares, mainly pointed out by my passengers, since I'm having too much fun driving to notice :driving:. The other day I went past a Genesis coupe on the interstate and my passenger noticed the driver checking out the Z as I drove by.

Weekly, @ the coin op car wash where i take my Z.its either a verbal or visual compliment. I like my Z

tnav 07-02-2014 11:16 PM

After adding springs, spacers, lip, and exhaust - lots of attention, makes the car really stand out

axmea? 07-03-2014 12:02 AM

I'm reposting this from an experience I had August LY. This was on the Fast Intentions and Best Compliment thread.

I'd put this on top of my list:

Left home early enough to get to work by 8AM. I jumped on the fwy and it was packed. Traffic news says an accident on the 210 jamming the 5. What normally took 25 minutes ended up being 1:15 on the road with 5 minutes more to get there.

Along Tampa Blvd about 3 blocks before I turn right, I took off from the stop light going from the left lane where I was at onto the right lane but accelerated pretty quick to beat everyone else. As soon as I got to the middle lane out comes a black and white with his lights flashing. I did not even see him and was caught off guard by this. To be honest I did not know if I even went above the speed limit (45) ore not, all I knew is I got there fast. I stopped just before the next light and I was mad at myself ready to tell the officer "I'm sorry, you got me". I was also thinking great, I have no plates in the front, car's pretty loud, I'm gonna get a hefty fix it ticket on top of a speeding ticket.

Officer steps out of his car, with his partner sitting inside, officer came to my side smiling and stuck his hand out to shake mine, all while I was telling him how sorry I was and you got me. Told him about the traffic I was just it and rushing to get to work, etc. He was talking over me at the same time saying "no, no, you're cool. I just wanted to stop you because I'm car guy and I love what you did with your car.....and that exhaust, it sounds really good. I'm not giving you a ticket. I'm just a car guy and my partner even knows that, so you're cool." How lucky can I be! I WAS SO HAPPY!!!! and grateful. I said cool! we can talk about cars all day long Officer xxxxxxx. He asked Where did you get that exhaust? I told him it was made by Fast Intentions in Simi Valley. He said it sounded really good. "When you took off, I had to stop and talk to you about it".. In my excitment, I offered to give him two $10 gift cards from work that I readily hand out when I meet people and I was thinking to myself, oh ****, I hope he does not think it's a bribe, I was just happy. He turned it down of course. He said no you're cool. I told him how cool he was and gave him my business card and said let's connect and talk about cars. We can even go to a car meet if you want. He said, cool and shook my hand and let me off. I waved back at his partner sitting in the patrol car. I drove off laughing at myself and about what just happened the rest of the way to work.

This my friends is the best compliment I had so far.

Every other person in Glendale has a G/Benz/Bmw so not that much actually.

paratrooper 07-03-2014 06:45 AM

Well I was going to post yesterday and say just a little, but then on my way home last night from a friends house I had this mid 2000's dodge ram 1500 get right beside me several times in only a few miles and kept revving. I just smiled and kept driving until he decided to slow down and jump right behind me on my tail. Lucky for me I was turning onto the merge lane of the interstate so I sorta just left him quickly. The whole time his g/f was just shaking her head at him... pretty priceless.

mab864 07-03-2014 07:39 AM

I get a few compliments and once in a while I notice another driver checking my car out. Z's are pretty rare around my neighborhood.

ProfessorDave 07-03-2014 08:51 AM

I give my Z lot's of attention...I tell her how sexy she is, and racy. And smarter than the other sports cars. But sometimes she gets mad when I want to just hang out with my buddies' cars and drink high-test. Other times she just goes off on me for no reason. Like the other night, she caught me looking at a Maserati, and now she isn't speaking to me!

Exactly, those are as common as ford escapes, unless we are talking amg and m series.

I like that I can go through a whole week of driving 1200-1500 KM's and in most cases not even see 1 370.

thompsontechs 07-03-2014 09:41 AM

It's rare to see one here, I have only seen one other so far this summer, so ya I get a lot of looks. It could be the HFCs and FI exhaust though too. It gets pretty loud when you give it even a medium go. While that was cool to hear for the first bit it garners unwanted attention from our law enforcement types too. It sounds like something a kid would drive and that gets even more attention. I am thinking of doing something with the exhaust to quite it down a bit.

If I can swing it I will do either FI or BP FI kit this winter which will get me back to stock cats which will help some.

aszyd 07-03-2014 10:30 AM

I see one, maybe two 370s a day. I know there is a 40th very close to where I live, the rest are on my commute to Orlando and back. There is a Yellow one that I see daily. We cross paths in the morning. The rest are random.

faplifesmitty 07-03-2014 05:12 PM

I was driving past 4 guys working on their Hondas and they stood up and have me a round of applause. Every time I park somewhere I get a ton of questions, mostly about my wheels.

nukee 07-03-2014 06:03 PM

It gets more looks than my dropped G37 did, probably because I honestly think it's the only one in town. Though getting the windows tinted and putting on some Forgestars certainly didn't help with the rubbernecking.

Where is NA located precisly?

PEPI 07-03-2014 10:25 PM

My boss will often get pissed off at me because of where I park my car at the dealership.
He complains that customers are asking about the Zed instead of the BMW product.

Cracks me up :)

Gadgetech 07-04-2014 07:47 AM

The same people at work ask me if the wheels are factory...the response is always yes, as if they're going to catch me in a lie. I generally get comments or nods at a gas station. I don't generally look to see if others are somehow trying to look at the car while I'm driving.

Not often, but it does happen daily. Like mentioned earlier, they do it discretely.

I average about 1 thumbs up a week, cant complain!

aszyd 07-04-2014 04:36 PM

I'm chilling with the in-laws, enjoying the holiday and just watched some kids do the "stop and stare" as they passed my car on their skateboards. I guess that counts.
