I know I saw somewhere in the manual where to jack up the car other than the side locations but after searching through the manual multiple times I never could find it. I ended up driving the front wheels onto some 2 x 12 and 1 x 6 to raise the front end enough in order to fit the floor jack under the car. I ended up using the aluminum cross member behind the engine for a lift point.

Installed a larger than OE Bosch oil filter that happens to be used on my '99 Eclipse and the GTR. Win, win with one filter for both cars. Started investigating other brands of filters at some autoparts stores and found that the Bosch inlet holes are smaller than the OE filter. Same amount of holes but smaller. The outlet holes in the filter don't have as many as I would like to see either. The Mobil 1 and K&N filters looked very good. May switch up on the next change.

OE oil was still fairly clean looking in color.
Purolater PureONE PL14610 filter seems to be the filter of choice for many. That is what I have been using.

differnt pureone oil filter models

did I really just do this?

Throttle seems more responsive and the dyno approves! It also seems to have made my car louder by some measure

After I took this pic I noticed one side seemed to stick out more than the other so I pushed the other one in to make it more even

I'm still not understanding how it took some people so long. And the front fascia being the hardest part? The front bumper shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to remove lol

Yes! all by myself If I had to install these again, I'm sure I can do it much faster!

Try having your car as low as mine and not have access to a low profile jack. The regular jacks just don't fit under my car with the amuse (rep) side skirt, thus I had to remove the side skirt first before I can actually jack up the car to start removing the front bumper. It doesn't help that these side skirts have like 10 bolts and screws that needs to be undone so its very time consuming.
Plus I didn't have the correct rotary tool for this job so making the vents larger to fit the pipes took longer than it should have.
Instead of cutting I had to grind the air vents, which led to friction that caused heat that melted the plastic. I had to remove the plastic residue off the rotary tool every 30 seconds
The stock bumper at stock ride height I'm sure I can take it off in 10 mins

trying to bend the liners without breaking them / not knowing how flexible they were plus little mechanical experience was my biggest road block

and then the couplings that came with the g3's were a bit tight and difficult so i decided to use the OEM ones with no problem

4 hours is probably a bit generous. more like 3... started after 9 and was done by 12 when i did it lol

Sounds like you need to invest in a low profile jack

Do you really have to lift the car to do the install? I know you can remove the OEM front bumper without lifting the car.

You have OEM front bumper I thought ... so no excuses lol

Yeah I'm always wasting time somehow or another. 30 min jobs turn into an hour easy

Made a reservation at Fontana Village for ZDayZ 2016. Except there are no cabins or lodge rooms available. I am on a wait list for both. Thought I would at least be able to book a lodge room

Home on a Monday and the sun finally came out. Took the Z for a quick spin. Also took off the wheels and cleaned the inside. Been meaning to do that for awhile. They look much better!

Finally got my new car cover in, now I can finally wash my Z after the 3 weeks it's been sitting

We're under strict water restrictions in SoCal so we have to be really careful with our water usage
