Filled up on way to work this morning and car only took 14.12 gallons (and was showing quarter tank on gauge again). Quick math tells me made 19.62 miles per gallon. Last full fill up was 10 Jul and showed 20.01, but I was in break in period and trying to not exceed 4k rpm. So all appears okay, just wish gauge wasn't so flaky with 5 gallons left in tank...another 100 miles is 2-3 extra days I could go between fill-ups! Maybe as I own the car longer and learn it's nuances better, I'll feel more confident relying on on odometer/distance driven...or I'll just resign myself to filling up at 1/4 tank remaining.

i refill at about the 1/2 mark. i like to keep my fuel pump submerged and fuel sensors lubed...oh and not getting stranded from fast right turns. :icon17:

Yeah but you drive like a granny or have a lot of highway miles. The only time I've seen over 21 is after my trip to the dragon b/c it was highway miles.

Granny driving during break in - yes. My car only gets driven on weekends and you know how traffic is around here :ugh2:

I do not plan to get over 20mpg ever again :driving:

After 4 tanks i'm averaging around 13l/100 km or just shy of 18mpg... then again I'm driving a sports car so this whole fuel economy/environementally friendly business has no business here! :gtfo2:

drive like this :driving: and your passenger like this :nutswinger:

*Edit* not driving on the highway at all as well lol...

I'm currently at 23.9 MPG, looks like my car is adjusting to the tune nicely. Most of my commute is at 70+.

I really pushed it on my last fill. I had the LED gauge completely dark. I wasn't expecting it to get that low. Put close to 18 gallons in there.

Probably the longest oil cooler install known to man... Changed some hours, had some time to finish things up. Decided to go with a bulkhead setup, just seemed neater and I didn't want to chop off anything.

Follwed up along the side similar to Z1's setup...

Hookup to bulkhead fittings, alot tighter bend.

Hoping off the weekend to fill with oil, get the front end back on and set the suspension.

Computer says 21.5 average with 38mph. I'm happy with the 19-20, even more happy it looks consistent from tank to tank. Zero mods yet, so some extra breathing may help as well...as someone above said, sports car and I get it! That's actually why I bought it :driving::happydance:

Almost got the trans off. Didn't realize how long it takes to get everything else off to finally take it off. Everything is off to finally get access to all the bolts so hopefully it'll drive late tonight after the new csc

I wish you luck! I do not have good memories of when I pulled my trans. to swap out the flywheel.

I received my Tanabe Revel Oil Pressure and Oil Temp. gauges today. Now to figure out how to install them.

Again, not the Z but on the Mog over the past 2 days I have:

Fully installed from bumper
Removed scuttle, cowl, and bonnet
Removed all engine accessories and painted, polished all
Removed all wiring from engine bay (to tuck behind dash)
Removed full interior
Unbolted engine, unistalled driveshaft, freed up the remote mounted gearbox
Mocked up new honda civic radiator (will take lots of TIG welding)
Removed center panel of firewall to facilitate engine removal

Up next:
Install pads and rotors for Autocross in the Z in 2 days

Bananaz 08-07-2014 10:48 PM

Trans is back in place and bolted in after installing the Zpeed HD CSC..tomorrow will put everything else back together. Such a pain in the *** to swap out the csc which only takes 4 minutes..damn you Nissan.
