Picked up the Z from surgery. All went well. Hand cut vents in stock fenders.

That looks awesome. If you don't mind me asking, what did that cost?

If you'll click the link he provided in his post, you'll see that they are hand cut custom vents in the stock fenders.

Very nice work, Silly Rabbit :tiphat:

Let me know if you need some Trix; I know a guy ;)

Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from. IMO, the Zspeed tray needs a slightly bigger access door but, even how it is -- still way better than removing the whole tray each time.

And yeah a bunch of oil gets on it when draining but a quick wipe does just fine, not like that's a part people ever look at. My tray looks fine on the bottom, but I'm sure the top part is all covered in oil, regardless not really a bad thing.

Are you guys lifting the car even or just the front? Is it hitting the back part of the shield? towards the rear?
I've changed the oil in mine plenty of times and never had oil get in the shield but it has always been on a lift sitting even front to back. Maybe the tilt back on ramps is causing this?

Yep, you nailed it. Definitely a jack/ramp problem. Myself, I jack up the front (don't have a lift, yet) but the car is clearly leaning back, so yes the oil hits the back part of the tray once the velocity of the draining oil slows down.

This can be easily solved by using something in the back of the door opening (like a cut in half bottle) to help the oil roll down into the pan.

But besides that, I feel like the access door could be a bit bigger anyway, there is not much room there. I can't even get my good oil filter wrench in there (no clearance) but have to use the crappy pliers that suck, which is not always ideal when dealing with a hot *** oil filter.
