But... just how often do you change your oil?? the filter's labeled 6/15 55k miles and am assuming 2500 until 60k warranty is ~2500 miles? unless you tracked it??(it caught my eye because I do the same thing, all our appliances are so labeled to keep track of purchase dates, ie do we repair the '06 dishwasher or just replace it) mostly unrelated but when I just got mine I got a free "lifetime" power train warranty which really works for me as I tend to keep my toys so I'll still be posting here when you've all moved on to the390z.com |

after I blew up my 350 (with a poorly thought out DIY turbo install) I then only changed the oil filter every 10-12k miles, I was adding a quart every 2 months due to a slooow rear main seal leak so figured the oil was being changed that way, it lasted another 50k miles after I blew up then fixed myself (new pistons/ rods and oil pan) I just let it leak as I'd already had to pull the engine twice due to screwing up the oil rings install the first time, spy-hunter level smoke screen throughout the test drive [i did have to swear to MrsBurntz I'd never put a turbo on this one, apparently I have a one engine limit (hello supercharger!)] consider sending off your oil to be tested, if they say "why did you send us new oil" you could lengthen your interval, I'm hoping you don't use synthetic Enjoy! ![]() |

Dropped it off at a friends shop last night...
32K miles on it so it was over due for the 30K mile service, I had the oil changed several days ago (Royal Purple HPS with royal purple filter)... The air filters are in good shape still and even then, I intend on getting an intake in the next month or so. I'm using Redline MT-85 in the transmission and Redline 75W90 for the rear diff and for the hell of it, I'm having him install the TWM short shifter (already had a TWM Abrams M1 shift knob)... Then probably have it detailed when I pick it up if he's done before 5. |

wheel spacers, exhaust and side splitters will be next.
coils by the end of the year. spacers since I haven't decided which wheels to go with yet and I'm being extremely picky.

First oil change. Local dealer told me free for dino or pay difference on synthetic which was $30 so went for it. Apparently they used 0W20 instead of 5W30 though.

Blargh. Guess I gave these guys too much credit.
The invoice said they used 74804-02031 synthetic which looks like it's 5W30 but the little sticker on the window says 0W20: http://images.peakauto.com/full_synt...otor_specs.pdf Should I call 'em and ask WTF? Drain it? When these freebies are gone, I intend to buy the Redline kit from Z-1 and DIY but as long as they're free don't mind paying a nominal amount for the convenience of it, but yeesh.
