i read dat the zspeed opening for oil drain is a joke... need to remove it like the factory shroud for clean oil change.

kinda defeats the purpose imho..

It is small, but I think it is fine as long as the car is level. But if you only jack up the front of the car, not all of the oil will drain through the opening. Then that oil flows on top of the undershroud toward the back of the car making a huge mess :ugh2:

yah, i only use ramps when i do my oil changes so id have to remove the entire shroud.

Not totally true...

I have the Z Speed shroud on my current (and had it on my first) 370. Removing the little panel works fine for oil changes.

Now that I am thinking about it, I think the design is a little different now and the opening is larger. Yes, I think it is true. The first one I bought and installed on my first Z worked well if the car was on a lift (and therefore level). On the ramps it made a bit of a mess due to the car being on an angle.

I bought a new shroud with my new 370 and when I changed the oil for the first time (on ramps) I only removed the little panel and I think I remember noticing that the panel was a little larger. I had no spilling or other issues.

Had a dyno-day. Car put out 313 hp on a dyno-jet. Car has stillen intakes, ark grip exhaust and nst underdrive pulleys.

Was happy with that. Ordered some switchback halos for some light work this coming weekend!

Hey brother. It was not prison! Had to restore a house before I could move into it. The Z went from a 2 car garage to a 1 car! My poor gf's civic has to sit outside =(.

So that stuff has kept me busy! I still have been lurking the parts for sale forum pretty much daily.. just not a lot of time to post. I have so many pictures I want to share tho..

That sounds like a good reason. I am happy it was not prison...

Absolutely! Waiting for ecutek to be more mainstream with tuners. Right now the closest option is in Georgia to forged performance. There are a few uprev guys here in central fl. It is really hit or miss here locally. With a tune I think I will be around 325whp.

Ah, same price for me.

FYI,
Just in case you don't know a dealer normally has 3 levels of pricing.

1= Full retail
2= Very Good customers
3= Employee Pricing.

You want to be at 2 or better. Some dealerships may have more levels of pricing. So, if you are a good customer at the parts counter, you get
very good discounts. Don't be a jerk. All dealerships have this pricing from Chevrolet to Toyota, etc.

I noticed that one dealer here in town gives me better pricing on parts than the other two. But it's not because I'm a nice customer. I have yelled at them plenty; more than once they have tried to sell me copper crush washers for my transmission and differential fill/drain plugs even when I give them the damn part number :shakes head:

Don't laugh. It's not funny. Especially when I call ahead to make sure they have them in stock, and they have a bag of copper crush washers waiting for me at pick up and none of the washers I need in stock. :mad:

And that's happened twice!! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, not gonna happen. I now make them put their eyes on the washers and tell me the color over the phone.

It's sad that I have to do that. Any time they screw up something like that, I just walk over to the showroom GT-R and just start commenting loudly on how many swirls are in the paint and that I'd be pissed if my $100K car had paint looking like this. That always makes me feel better :icon17:
