Replaced a leaky valve cover gasket and also replaced upper intake manifold gasket and throttle body gaskets....pretty significant improvement in performance after this was done, pain in the butt getting the valve covers off though lol

First videos has the reverse light on the entire time. Second video is just the normal running light with brake being pressed.

The lower LED's went bad on mine. A few others had the same issue. Not sure why.

You should have done the other while you were at it lol.

Just noticed today that the passenger side LED driving light is out. I wonder what the heck happened there...

Painted the garage this weekend. Not perfect, but not bad either.

Changed my spark plugs for GTR plugs. It was time to change them and Seb@specialty Z said if I didn't mind dropping a little extra $$$ to go with the GTR plugs... also cleaned my throttle bodies and maf sensors while I was in there.

Installed some used vented fenders I picked up at a great deal, then wrapped them to match my car

Noooo! Don't say that! How long ago was that and how long did it take?

What was the reasoning behind using the GT-R plugs? I'm assuming you're running NA. I'm also tuned by Seb.

He had $200 to kill :icon17:

The Z makes a little appearance. Teaser video from HalfMile V Invitational, low boost shakedown run.

Got my cel read today. If I'm correct I need a new upstream oxygen sensor? Opinions?
I did forget to mention an important piece of information: when the TP's were put in we did use an impact and had to cut one the bolts off after the head rounded out. That's the reason I lean towards the o2 sensors.

Hey, hey! It was only $140! :rofl2:

I was getting a little knock in one of my more aggressive maps, and I told him I was going to do all my PM's. Plugs, oil, clean tb's, Mafs, filters etc etc. he said if I wanted to, go for the GTR plugs, they're a step colder and "in some cases it helps but it definitely never hurts!" ... it's like an extra $80... but oh well. I've been getting a ton of OT lately :icon17:
I'll do some more logs, send them to him and see what he says.

ChaseZ 06-04-2017 11:10 PM

An $80 gamble to see if it helps before going ahead and retarding some timing is worth it if you ask me.

Was the knock frequency isolated?

Lookin' great as ever. What rpm did you launch at? Sounded like 2500.

I like how you went up against my old car (SRT4) with my new car (Z).

B&W_Evader 06-05-2017 08:43 AM

New rear XP8 pads installed. With the new OSG LSD, either my slotted rotors or my VDC ate these alive and the reason I now have a yaw sensor power switch. Less than 20k on these before the rivets started scraping.

Think that was around 28/2900, no burnout, 21psi. Was last run of the day, supposed to be up with a 911 but they waved me up for this guy. When the very unprepped asphalt was nice and hot was able to get off 3400ish and hook a lot better.

Little sucker was built too. He actually trapped a lot higher than me but with the amount of busses between us it didn't matter lol

That was just some teaser they put up. They had camera drones and everything going too so should be some better video coming out later. My GoPro batteries were all nearly dead so didn't get much footage of my own - I thought they were all fully charged so never bothered to check beforehand. :shakes head:

Sounds about right. From a roll they hauled - from a dig it was almost pointless.

99% sure you killed the o2 sensor, any good amount of vibration will destroy them.

JTM88 06-05-2017 04:53 PM

I got a killer deal on an OEM sport package spoiler on eBay

Nissan 370Z 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 Rear Spoiler Gray metalic OEM 370 Z | eBay

Is it just me, or does the nose of that 'Vette (in the video above) look so much like the RX7 FD series?

Thank god we dont own German crap...Z is the easiest car to work on...
Putting transmission pan on my wifes C250 snapped the torx bolt...Fing German crap. Thank god it snapped at the head, got trusty pliers and twisted it out...

Have you attempted to remove the "demon bolts" off of your exhaust yet? Many ratchets, sockets and knuckles have met their demise with those bolts.

DeliriousClam 06-07-2017 09:21 AM

Got the fucker displaying the correct mileage again

Demon bolts came out just fine on mine, used an impact grade socket on them though :D

Yeah. One no problem either soon as I got the right point of entry and length of extensions, swivels and wobbles lol

Didn't hurt that the car was only a couple months old either I'm sure
