It helps. It can help a lot depending on what type of sound deadening mat you use. Dynamat is one of the more expensive choices. The tar based types stink, so you need to pick wisely.

I did from the shock towers back with GTMat and it did a good job of quieting things down.

yah, i used dynamat. it made a noticeable difference, but my muffler is pretty loud so it's not like a lux car by any means.

Correct me if I am wrong, but does not a sports car supposed to be somewhat loud? People who complain about the noise should have considered a Prius. They are quiet, I suppose.

I think it is supposed to be about performance first and foremost, not explicitly loudness; else we would all be running around on modded trombones.

If I want noise I can go windows down; also the only place I'm allowed to listen to music uninterrupted and at a tactile volume is in the car so I like a reasoned amount of sound dampening.

The grounds for divorce I used with my second wife was "I like good full sound, but not noise".

It worked.

Thank you guys ! Making an appointment next week to get windows tinted and while there I'll have the Dynamat installed as well.. The road noise is just crazy loud and bothering the **** out of me lol.. And is it me or did the change the exhaust from the 350z to 370z? I always wanted a z/g35 bc of the factory exhaust sound and seems my 370z does not have the same tone ?
