Interior noise level is pretty loud, clutch rattles on idle, the infamous hiss of the exhaust when paired with hfc or test pipes, lag in low rpms, paint chips with each small piece of rock that hits the car, huge dumbo ear side view mirrors

Get the base with the least possible options, used is an option too since race mods will give you a hard time to get any warranty work done. Essentially save money where you can on the initial investment to have more money for upgrades.

not very good advice IMO if you plan on tracking. bigger brakes and an LSD never hurt on a track

I think he was referring to the idea if he wants to actually race and build the car you start with nothing.
So you do not waste money on parts you may replace or need to replace. May as well buy a used 370z with no options and rip out everything.
