Need some info

I'm planning to get a 370 in the near future and when I do I plan on modifying it for racing but for now I was wondering if someone could give me some basic info about the car and what I will need to know as an owner.

Before everyother forum member will flame you for not using the search bar and bombard you with you retarded shenanigans. Why dont you try being a bit more specific. Basic info? That a large can of worms.

1flaguy 06-17-2014 10:40 AM

Spend time

I spent 3 days on here doing research before I decided to get a z and ask any questions. There is tons of information just put some time in

Well for one serious answer, be aware of the blind spots all over the car. The rear is one obvious one. The other is, depending on how you sit, the left driver side view mirror will block your line of sight. I had one instance where i came to a stop sign and the left intersection car was fully blocked by the side view mirror. Nothing happened but I was about to go and then saw the car and braked. Like a vrrrrrrr-errrrr.

Start to read from here... Using google search instead of forum search that's all I can tell you right now till you have some specific questions to ask.

Welcome, The early 370z had oil cooling problems, The CSC will go out on most of them early and its located somewhere in the drivetrain$$. Blindspot on side and backing up. I think tires don't last too long 20K so choose them wisely. Some early 370z had a steering lock problem. The 370z cars are very mod addictive. It is well worth it in buying the sport package. You will probably want to but a shortshifter because gearbox is crunchy in 1st and 2nd. Get ready to receive compliments in parking lots. That should save you about 3 hrs of research. GOOD LUCK

njobe89 06-17-2014 11:23 AM

you should get a civic, so much faster, vtec goes bwaaaahhhh... jk... i bought mine about 2 months ago and i like it. like everyone said blind spots suck big time and that tires can't last long and they cost a good amount. other then that i like everything about it :D

kenchan 06-17-2014 11:31 AM

Interior noise level is pretty loud, clutch rattles on idle, the infamous hiss of the exhaust when paired with hfc or test pipes, lag in low rpms, paint chips with each small piece of rock that hits the car, huge dumbo ear side view mirrors

kenchan 06-17-2014 11:56 AM

lol'ed at dumbo ears. :icon17:

shrek ears > dumbo ears

Get the base with the least possible options, used is an option too since race mods will give you a hard time to get any warranty work done. Essentially save money where you can on the initial investment to have more money for upgrades.

not very good advice IMO if you plan on tracking. bigger brakes and an LSD never hurt on a track

kenchan 06-17-2014 12:38 PM

maybe he was saying get dedicated bbk and quaife?

I think he was referring to the idea if he wants to actually race and build the car you start with nothing.
So you do not waste money on parts you may replace or need to replace. May as well buy a used 370z with no options and rip out everything.

Yep, you're spending 2.5k (new) for:
Shocks you'll want to replace
Viscous Limited Slip Differential you'll want/have to replace
19" wheels you'll want to replace
Aero Body you can live without and have better options
Sport Brake kit which is good
SynchroRev Match that is nice but not necessary
