Taking the plunge back into Z land
I have had 260z 280zx Turbo (one of my favorite cars of all time) and a 300zx twin Turbo.
Now I have decided to return to the Z family:tiphat:. I am buying a used 20,000 miles, 2011 Nismo with Stillen CAI and top speed pro one exhaust. Has a few other upgrades as well and an extended warranty which is nice I think. It's been a long journey of m3's', Z06, Cayman to name a few. I'm excited to get back in the Z and have some fun again. First thing I am doing is oil cooler to keep is cool on the track. This forum has been fantastic and I appreciate all the work people put in their posts:icon18: Hopefully I can add some value |

I would wait to see what 2016 has in store for the Z. If you don't like you can always go back to this gen.
|
Thanks but I don't want a new one, I have taken enough wacking on depreciation of buying new cars in my life, and I love the looks of this one.
|
yah, i like the pre2014 nismo's better myself.
|
Interesting that you used to have a M3 and a Cayman cause thats what I want next. What caused you to shed those to come back to Z land?
|
$$$$
Had them when things were better financially. I have been driving a Passat which is a great car for the last 3 years.

buy now, keep Nismo for collection AND buy the new Z three years after it comes out so they can resolve the steering lock, oil cooling, and brakes issue on it. :stirthepot: |
Welcome back! I bought my 370 a year ago tomorrow after not owning a Z for over 20 years( last one was a 280z) and I have really enjoyed playing with this one!
|
:hello: So, you wanna be cool again? Drive a sexy car known for it's repeated collisions, and chicks staring you down almost on a daily basis???!!!! :yum:
:gtfo2: Just joking, but not really Oh yeah, Welcome! :icon17: |

Interestingly, that turbo made the 280ZX Turbo one of the fastest imports in the US back then. They added the turbo because the thing was becoming fatter and emission-laden to the point where the normally-aspirated 280ZX was slower than the 240Z. As fast as I remember my 280ZX Turbo being, 0-60 was like 7.1 seconds according to Car & Driver and my recollection. My 370Z does that in 4.5 seconds according to my Dynolicious app, 4.8 seconds according to Car & Driver, and 5 seconds according to Edmunds. |
