In NY, here is how it works if your car is OBDII equipped. They plug a diagnostic computer in, if you've thrown a CEL recently, you lose. If you have not, you win. That simple. This car is a new one so it's OBDII equipped, hence if you get HFCs like Berk or FIs or whatever, and aren't throwing CELs you'll be fine.
