If you wait for The Next Best Thing, you'll never have any fun (or not as much). Get whatever car makes you happy now. If TNBT turns out to be that much better, switch again.
Assuming that the next generation Z is that much better than the current gen, you still ought to wait a year or two for them to work out the bugs. So, if you wait, you're looking at driving a car you don't like all that much for 3-5 years. Life is too short.
