A Nismo looks different, sounds different, and drives different.

What flavor is that Kool-aid?

NoLaKrewe 07-26-2014 11:19 PM

Lowest I've heard is 36.5, I wonder how hard you have to try for that

Haha!

But all true.

Your choice of words is puzzling. Who cares if the NISMO drives "different"? All I care about is the cost/benefit analysis. And all numbers point towards the NISMO being a minute increase (and in some ways, decrease) in performance over a basic base/sport Z.

This is an old argument, and has been run into the ground. We all know the NISMO is basically on par w/ the base/sport. So what does it matter if it drives "different"?

They should offer a true racing Nismo model maybe call it an RS with focus on reducing weight and track performance. . Then gave the tech pack one that is like a touring with navigation and leather race seats.

Maybe it's just me but the Nismo should be the lightest model. Not heaviest.

Here's where the NISMO line is going and IMHO, a complete joke. It'll get worse before it gets better. Nissan has this goal of gaining 10% of the world market and are pretty much going to sell-out whatever they can just to sell cars at the cheapest CPU. Someone will get fired before the Nismo line is not a joke.

Looks like a Honda FIT

I wonder if all these other models will continue to have Nismo versions going forward, or if this is just a big "everyone gets a Nismo!" type event because it's Nismo's 30th anniversary.

They need to throw a turbo on all of the smaller Nismo models to compete with the Ford ST cars. If I were in the market for such a car, I would probably opt for Nissan over Ford.

This is the way I see it...You could save money on buying a base or Sports/Touring Package and spend that extra money modding the Z the way you want with new Intakes, Exhaust, Suspension, Bumpers, Side Skirts, Fenders, Ground Kits Etc....You could even buy a base and convert it to a Nismo but at the end of the day it will never be a NISMO or outdo a Nismo...Its almost like buying a base model Civic Hatch or Integra and converting it to a Type R....At the end of the day it will never be a True Type R. The bottom line is that the Nismo is in a totally different class all by itself no matter how you look at it...It's factory made directly from Nissan giving it that true authenticity

The Nismo IMHO is for the true enthusiast who wants to have a NISMO.

The Kool-aid flows strong in this one!

All of the 370's are built in Japan and imported over, btw. But I'm sure you knew that.

He's got one point right, it'll never be a Nismo! Not much of a loss.
