Getting 2011 Z370

Today im going to check 2011 black Z370 manual, need your advises, what to check from side of engine & gear?:ughdance:

Minsu 05-14-2014 08:26 AM

Make sure the paint is even on the whole lookaround.
Make sure all the interior parts are well kept and solid without any shaking parts.
Make sure Hatch opens properly.
Make sure you brought your big boy pants.
Make sure you ask about flood damage, depending on where you get it.
Make sure when you go for the test drive, redline the **** out of it, to see how the engine sounds, feels, acts.
Make sure the shifter shifts well and that the clutch feels solid without rattle or jitters.
Make sure that the each gateway to each gear has no blockage on it.
Make sure to check all fluids although your getting it changed anyways.
And Iono, random rant End.

kenchan 05-14-2014 08:58 AM

make sure it has tires

Zerocool 05-14-2014 09:24 AM

Make sure the ejector seat works.

Austonian 05-14-2014 09:51 AM

if it smells funny, you probably shouldn't put your junk in it.

Minsu 05-14-2014 11:35 AM

Think long and hard if you want the headache this car will cause.

Read through teh numerous threads detailing endless issues on near brand new cars that Nissan never successfully repairs..

http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...ff-nissan.html

http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...ad-gasket.html

if the maintenance headache that this car will cause seems worth it to you then by all means pull the trigger

So you're saying those two threads are indicative of what all z owners will experience?

No, i'm saying Nissan provides poor service and resolution to issues and that the car has a proven track record of unreliability. So if your lucky and the car is reliable good for you but there is a good chance your in for some trouble and to consider that before buying a nissan.

A good chance? Let's not be unreasonable. If something goes wrong, service can be a crapshoot, but your experience is not at all the norm.

kenchan 05-14-2014 02:20 PM

dang them nissans. :shakes head:

Where did I say my experience was the norm? You can gain a lot of information from Nissan's handling of my issue though. In short they don't care. If your car turns out to be a lemon they DO NOT stand behind it, despite a "warranty".

A reliable 370Z has nothing to do with luck. I would be interested to hear a valid argument for why you claim "the car has a proven track record of unreliability". I'm sorry you had a terrible experience with Nissan, but your claim is completely baseless.

I hope people understand that no car manufacturer out there is bullet proof. How about BMW? How about Audi? They are "notorious" for defects too. Yes you do see people complaining on the internet about their car broke down while majority of people are fine with theirs and there is no need for them to report to the internet that their cars are running fine. Just because you see people had issues with their cars on the internet here and there doesn't mean they are the majority of the owner. And doesn't mean that particular car manufacturer is unreliable.

onzedge 05-14-2014 02:52 PM

The first thing I did with both of my 370Z's was to pull the "Randomly Fail a Part" fuse.

No trouble since...

Yea I don't disagree with that .The issue becomes how does the manufacturer react to problems? Do they actually fix them? Do they correct manufacturing defects? Are they actually concerned with the quality of their product? In Nissan's case my experience has been no to all those questions.

So I'd just like to alert op to this potential possibility. Its highly likely you will have an issue of some sort, especially with a used car. Don't count on Nissan to fix it though even if its under warranty!

This is the issue most people here are taking with your rants. Facts simply do not align with your version of reality. You are an outlier. You got a lemon.

Solomatrix 05-14-2014 04:24 PM

i had a 2011 and had zero problems

The Z is a great value that takes a licking and delivers overall value.

May you never deal with any corporate office.

Congratulations on your Z car decision.
