Got a 13 sport Z as well, never happened to me. Never blipped the throttle for no reason yet. Will try it when my oil temps get up there and let you know.

Did a drive on highway and then a couple of spirited mountain runs here. Got oil temps above 220, then tried to replicate your issue. My rpm's came back down after tapping throttle and did not rise.
Don't think my engine was heat soaked though as that would probably have something to do with it, but that would be hard to do here on my tiny island. |
I know exactly what you're talking about. Happens to me almost every time my oil temp hits 220. The rpm tends to go higher and float for a little longer instead of dropping to idle.
|
Did anyone figure out why it’s doing that? My z started doing the same.

About to hit 100K miles and mine still does it. It seems to get worse as the throttle bodies get dirty. But I clean them about every 25K miles and it's never gone away completely.

I'm at about 65k and I've not noticed this problem, but I have noticed that once the oil temp gets around 220 and the air temp is over 90, the car is sluggish from a stop. I'm thinking heat soak is the cause of the problem, which is why I'm considering hood vents in the stock hood or a CF hood with vents, along with an oil cooler. Heat is the enemy in our cars, even those of us that are NA. :shakes head::shakes head::shakes head::shakes head:

It does seem that the rpm only pauses when oil temp is high, it doesn't do it when oil temp is under 100C(200F).
