2016 3xx plan
If the 2016 380, 390 or whatever isn't so rad then my plan is pick up 2014 or 2015 and twin turbo it but start planning and saving now. Hopefully my 2009 will have some value ;)

4-cylinder, single turbo, probably a hybrid. I bought a 2014.

Why would it get locked? Maybe now because some of you are just pompus elitist think you know it all

IBTL because this subject has been beat to death.
Move along...... nothing to see |
I'm sure there was nothing against your plan. The next gen model is pure speculation and sends threads into a downward spiral. That's why you see people say "IBTL".

Anyway, if I'm wrong, I'll buy the 2018 Z. It will be identical to the 2016 Z and they'll have 70% of the bugs worked out. |
Yeah never buy the first year model If you can help it!

This is the second time I've been called elitist. Must be some truth to it. |
Elitist: of a person considered superior by others, as in intellect, talent, power, wealth, or position in society.
Pompous: characterized by magnificence. Sounds like a compliment to me. ...and to be called this TWICE?! You, good sir, are at the top of your game! ;) |

I will keep my '09 and will buy a 2nd or 3rd year Nismo version. This gives me plenty of time to save up the cash and gives Nissan a chance to work out the bugs related to the propulsion system, whatever that turns out to be. It's common sense that they won't make a lesser performing vehicle in this day and age given the competition.
As a side note, I hope they simply call it the "Z". Simple, elegant, lethal... :driving: |

dont let your panties get to much in a twist...in all fairness though, what you asked is kind of a loaded question around here as talk of the next generation Z has been pretty much beat to death. I can see where you're coming from though cause i myself am doing the whole wait and see approach to see what they do with the next Z to decide what my next purchase will be. |

I like this one a lot :)

you already have a Z. if you want to twin turbo, better off using that. the money you spend "upgrading" to a 2014 is going to be a lot, as will the cost to keep the 7at alive under boost.
|
The next Z is already out. It's call the Jaguar F Type R. It's everything the next Z should be...............almost. :icon14:
|
What we heard from insiders at our end its more like VQ30DETT
|
^ me hope so. I'll get rid of the Z34 so quick if that is true.

I'm keeping my current Z. No 4 cylinders for me. I think Nissan needs to focus on a platform that is both lighter and more fuel efficient. We have Corvettes with a 6.2L V8 and 450+hp getting 29 mpg.
|
It is the Corvette, not the 4 cylinder Z, that has my eye.

Sources tell me that a Cummins turbo diesel may be an option. 2 words....Mad Torque.

A turbo four banger ,hybrid with 400 ft lbs of torque would be sweet. But so would a 4 cylinder turbo Cummings.

Unfortunately, I was not born with this gift. However luckily for me, over time my parents, teachers and reading books like these have improved my skills in this area. So while you may not agree with me, I believe a person who could effectively communicate their message in the 1930's would almost certainly retain that abilty in 2014. :tiphat: |
