2016 3xx plan

If the 2016 380, 390 or whatever isn't so rad then my plan is pick up 2014 or 2015 and twin turbo it but start planning and saving now. Hopefully my 2009 will have some value ;)

Whos with me?

4-cylinder, single turbo, probably a hybrid. I bought a 2014.

1.) Those are all rumours and not one single thing has been confirmed for the next Z.

2.) IBTL :rofl2:

Why would it get locked? Maybe now because some of you are just pompus elitist think you know it all

IBTL because this subject has been beat to death.

Move along...... nothing to see

gbrettin 04-09-2014 10:57 AM

I'm sure there was nothing against your plan. The next gen model is pure speculation and sends threads into a downward spiral. That's why you see people say "IBTL".

His plan is sound. Same plan I used because I'm not really interested in what's likely to be a 4 cylinder single turbo hybrid Z. Nissan cannot resist changing the Z car as it ages until they lose their customer base then cancel the platform to re-initiate it a decade later. It's in their corporate genes.

Anyway, if I'm wrong, I'll buy the 2018 Z. It will be identical to the 2016 Z and they'll have 70% of the bugs worked out.

Malm 04-09-2014 11:23 AM

Yeah never buy the first year model If you can help it!

Huh.

This is the second time I've been called elitist.

Must be some truth to it.

Tick64 04-09-2014 11:53 AM

Elitist: of a person considered superior by others, as in intellect, talent, power, wealth, or position in society.

Pompous: characterized by magnificence.

Sounds like a compliment to me. ...and to be called this TWICE?! You, good sir, are at the top of your game! ;)

I will keep my '09 and will buy a 2nd or 3rd year Nismo version. This gives me plenty of time to save up the cash and gives Nissan a chance to work out the bugs related to the propulsion system, whatever that turns out to be. It's common sense that they won't make a lesser performing vehicle in this day and age given the competition.

As a side note, I hope they simply call it the "Z". Simple, elegant, lethal... :driving:

dont let your panties get to much in a twist...in all fairness though, what you asked is kind of a loaded question around here as talk of the next generation Z has been pretty much beat to death. I can see where you're coming from though cause i myself am doing the whole wait and see approach to see what they do with the next Z to decide what my next purchase will be.

you already have a Z. if you want to twin turbo, better off using that. the money you spend "upgrading" to a 2014 is going to be a lot, as will the cost to keep the 7at alive under boost.

Rusty 04-09-2014 10:08 PM

The next Z is already out. It's call the Jaguar F Type R. It's everything the next Z should be...............almost. :icon14:

CarbonSignal 04-09-2014 11:11 PM

What we heard from insiders at our end its more like VQ30DETT

mag_black 04-09-2014 11:24 PM

^ me hope so. I'll get rid of the Z34 so quick if that is true.

I'm keeping my current Z. No 4 cylinders for me. I think Nissan needs to focus on a platform that is both lighter and more fuel efficient. We have Corvettes with a 6.2L V8 and 450+hp getting 29 mpg.

Mt Tam I am 04-11-2014 09:37 AM

It is the Corvette, not the 4 cylinder Z, that has my eye.

Sources tell me that a Cummins turbo diesel may be an option. 2 words....Mad Torque.

I dont even know where to start on that comment lol

Masterbeatty 04-11-2014 01:15 PM

A turbo four banger ,hybrid with 400 ft lbs of torque would be sweet. But so would a 4 cylinder turbo Cummings.

Replace the cat head with the hamburger. Think the guys who styled the Z and the F Type went to the same design school. I see some of the overall design ideas in both cars. ;)

No worries Roddy. I just hope that you'll agree with me that every person in this world has a different level of communicating their message to others. Especially in a kind and respectful manner. Some are excellent at it while others could use some improvement.

Unfortunately, I was not born with this gift. However luckily for me, over time my parents, teachers and reading books like these have improved my skills in this area. So while you may not agree with me, I believe a person who could effectively communicate their message in the 1930's would almost certainly retain that abilty in 2014. :tiphat:
