0, sorry!!!!
|
Intakes are always a nice (cheap way) to add some power and noise. As for HP gain for the money... a less restrictive exhaust plus tune should yield close to 15rwhp. Exhausts are always a good thing!
And yes clear bras are key! |
Do you think the best way to have the tires not break loose when shift from first to second in a race is to get larger tires/rims? I've tried changing gears at different RPM's but still...
|
Ok, gonna give it to you straight, so far, the cheapest and best bang for the buck is High Flow Cats, and I dont think anyone will disagree, the ERZ's are the cheapest around, and im sure offer the same performance as the Berks/FI ones, mine netted 15whp, got the Berks from someone here for $300, 15whp for $300? F-in steal buddy. And yes, my dyno sheets are posted.

dude, your avatars are scary!!!!!
|
If everyone keeps making fun of how i look, im going to call the ACLU!!

LOL... honestly - why did you buy the Z?
Speed in a line - maybe get a V1 / passport Speed in a line @ the drags - get some sticky rubber Handling - Maybe some sways to stiffen her up Sound - Get an FI exhaust and call it a day But if you got your car to enjoy it - get some track time and an oil cooler - it will be the first and only mod you will ever need :p Ok ok ... maybe not only but it certainly should be your first |

any ways. If your more of a speedster type of a guy. I say change gear ratios 4.08 10-15% increase acceleration and cobb accessport. Raise your rev limiter to 8100 rpm. Just this alone is beast. Then shoot for HFC/Exhaust/Headers/Intakes <---in that order imo. |
my question is, who the heck is capable of changing the gear ratios? thats what i wanna know! Sounds like it would decrease mileage/increase oil temps quicker if it was done to a DD.
|
I had the Stillen CAI first and i loved it and now i have the HFC but i would def have done the HFC first if i could go back but it doesn't matter now
|
The CAIs really only make more power above 7k RPM so this is not bang-for-the-buck improvement for most people. If we're talking bang for the buck for horsepower, HFCs are your best first move. If you want bang for the buck aesthetics (look and sound) AND horsepower, a CBE is the way to go but will cost you double to quadruple what you'll pay for HFCs.
An oil cooler will make the car sustainably trackable, but I've done multiple track days in cooler weather with no issues (hot days will have you doing cool down laps frequently). Clear bra will protect you from scratches at the expense of looking like you put a condom on your car. |
Seriously ... I did tint cus the summer lovin was killing me in my car slowly... once I start my mod frenzy - you can be sure an oil cooler / better tires for my old volks / and a V1 are all i plan on investing in :)

i don't like the lines and how the clear bra area doesn't shine like the area without it. |
This is a timely post. I am thinking about a CAI or Exhaust as a next mod. The ideal of course would be both. So am I understanding correctly that between the two an exhaust would be the most significant upgrade?
