1) Why would someone take the plates? I know you can use them on other cars, especially if you're skipping through several areas and just stringing along stolen cars, but...?

1) Why would someone take the plates? I know you can use them on other cars, especially if you're skipping through several areas and just stringing along stolen cars, but...? Lack of a fence/outlet for selling the car/parts, but ability to sell the plates? Why not just take everyone's plates in a parking lot?
2) I'm curious to hear more about the method of theft and your fob no longer working. Any thoughts as to what happened/how? Perhaps when I hit Defcon this year there will be more auto security talks...but things like this always interest me due to the ease of attack once the info is out. |
