Then I got the car and thought -- How can I do this? |

I was pretty much going to leave my new one stock...until I realized the factory exhaust on my Infiniti FX35 sounded meaner than the pipes on the new Z.

It'll be too loud? That's like the Trace Adkins song:
Too much fun whats that mean It's like too much money, theres no such thing It's like a girl too pretty, with too much class Being too lucky, a car too fast No matter what they say I've done, well I ain't never had too much fun |
Stock totally except for the Z1 25 row oil cooler. No need for anything else. Zero issues around here in Europe, and on the Autobahn I have no problems with stock power available at all. I have had zero inclination to alter the Z.
I have modded/ tuned before including an Audi, Lotus Turbo Esprit and an Abarth 500 to name a few. To each his own with what you want or need in your ride. |

I would think the Z needs more modding than a Lotus Turbo Esprit. But what do I know. You have had some nice cars. |
Mine was pretty much stock except for a Borla cat-back exhaust when I sold it a few weeks ago. I still have 20mm spacers brand new in the box. To each their own on modding. I'm with the OP in that I didn't want to start cutting and hacking a pristine car. I knew I wasn't going to keep it for many years wanting a torquey V8. I did a lot of reading on this forum and it seems gains were very miniscule/dollar so I weighed the risk vs reward. My logic was, do hardly anything or wait until warranty expired and go full bore forced induction. Not many competent shops to do that sort of thing in my neck of the woods so that was a factor as well. The car was pretty good off the floor IMHO and there was nothing that could have fixed what I wanted to change anyway.

Had rims, coilovers, catback and down pipe before I even took delivery :inoutroflpuke: |
While the salesman was pitching his sales talk to me I completely blacked out and was picturing the parts I need to order. :driving:
Now I'm debating whether to de-badge the 370z or not off the rear. |
One suggested mod. You may want to consider swapping out the stock CSC with a Z Speed HD CSC before the factory one fails either for piece of mind and/or to avoid the hassle of trying to drive your Z without a clutch.

OP. you have been denied membership. Your Z is no longer pure. It has been tainted.

Once i was 100% sure i was buying a 370z, i shopped for 3 month prior to actually buying the car, looking what to buy to mod my soon to be Z:tup:
I did this even with my GTI. I traded the stock 5 star rims+tires for new winter tires on rims at the dealership because i already had the aftermarket wheels getting delivered:roflpuke2: |
