Who cares? I've been revved at many times with my wife in the car and ignore it everytime. Why? Usually it's two punk guys in some boy racer car. I'm in the Z with my wife, so I've already won.

Hell when I'm out cruising, its almosy guaranteed I'll have a minivan or suv tailgate me then floor it to pass me. I just smile and go on my merry way

I don't think he is talking so much about racing around town as as he is taking "spirited" drives. I'm the same as you, I don't play into all these kids who think they have fast cars on the interstate, but I will let lose a little on one of our beautiful mountain roads we have up here.

This. Exactly what I did.

See that's awesome. My frustrations came to peak when last night some DBag in an A4 was on my *** and then tried to race me and I just had to drive slowly like a grandpa so she wouldn't get scared.

I think the OP was hinting at it.

Agree. Ill open her up on nice empty roads as well (and my wife loves it!)

I guess both of you were too blind to notice the quotation on the word racing. Or maybe you saw it and couldn't comprehend that I wasn't exactly racing, hence the quotes.

Here's the literal breakdown for you two seeing how you seem to be having difficulties:

I wasn't exactly racing. We were just driving faster than we were supposed to. The whole thing lasted, maybe, 10 seconds.

Sounds like you were racing to me. Either that or driving like an idiot. I hope you weren't that guy who thought he beat a fast car when it wasn't even trying. Save it for the track Mr. M5 killer.

And OP, just tell her to get over it. She will eventually.

When I don't like riding with someone who drives fast, it's not because they drive fast. It's because I hate they a55-awful way they drive and want them to do nothing else that would be even riskier.

Maybe you need to ask her if she likes riding shotgun with you and if you're a good driver. If you're not a good driver in her eyes, you need to work at that.

Else, get a new girlfriend or a new Prius.

So, that's what...near-racing?

I think you gol' durn missed the point.

DjSquall 03-18-2014 08:09 AM

I'm still lol'ing at how he "beat the m5" and how they were "both flooring it" but "not racing"

Smh.

Haboob 03-18-2014 08:38 AM

Meh, I save the spirited driving for when I'm in the car alone, or if my buddies are riding along (car guys), but even that's rare.

I drive differently with passengers, because I'm responsible for them should anything happen.

I dunno, I guess it's part of being a mature adult.

shit is going to happen no matter how you approach it. You can't be safe for everyone else out there texting, drinking, doing make-up, and who-knows-what-else while driving.

I know, but if I'm taking a corner faster-than-normal, and I wreck by myself, then I did it to myself and I can live with that.

If I wreck with a passenger in the car, I can't live with the lack of responsibility I showed towards their trust in me and their lively hood (should they have been hurt).

So I should just accept it and be part of the problem!
