Dealership oil change

Holy crap!! 124.00 for an oil change at the dealer. That's after knocking off 40.00 for a coupon that I had. 75.00 labor? come on... only have 4000 miles on it so I figured I`d let them do it. Not again :icon23:

I do it at the local Chevy dealership Quick Lane. They have Mobil 1 and I bring my own oil filter in case they don't have an AC Delco PF1237 on hand. I also keep a little envelope of crush washers in my glove compartment.

If you've got a place to work on the car, get yourself a floor jack and some jack stands (or ramps). Mobil 1 runs me $25 for 5 qts at Walmart, so my oil changes typically run me 30-45 minutes (depending on how long I let the oil drain) and about $35.

So without the coupon it would have been $164? For an oil change? Never go to that dealer again.

cooltoy 03-14-2014 11:08 AM

It must have included things like tire rotation and fluid checks and other stuff for that money. If it did not - you are getting ripped off.

Chuck33079 03-14-2014 11:09 AM

Tire rotation? On a Z?

karotZ 03-14-2014 11:12 AM

OP, that's close to what I paid for an oil change, transmission oil change, diff oil change including redline oil to all of it. Don't go back to that dealership. When I used to go to my dealer, they charged $75. Now I pay $35 when I dont feel like doing it. :happydance:

I guess I had my wife's Edge Sport in my head, since she asked me to make an oil change appointment.
