Is this brake override an added feature in the newer Z's? My '09 and current '10 would spin the wheels for as long as I wanted with VDC off.

A proper burn out includes your foot on the brakes.

It was added to every new car because of Toyota :tiphat:

Ah, a brake burnout. Never heard it called a 'standstill' burnout. Threw me off and I'm old. Thanks DE.

No problem. Have fun learning why Nissan installed brake override into the Z.

Because we have people that sue saying that the brake went out and the car kept accelerating. That doesn't fly with the override.

Lol, if you're old, you should know that a proper burnout if foot on the brake
I'm not that old and I had to learn this from Jay Leno. (Also tells you how worthless the rear brakes are)

To do a proper brake burn out, you should be installing line locks, not bypassing a safety feature of the vehicle.

The possible consequences of what the OP is trying to do should be pretty obvious.

It's really not necessary to ever do an in-place burnout anyways, IMHO. The only time such a thing makes sense is at the drag strip (a light burn to clean junk off street tires, or a real burnout if you have drag slicks), but even then generally if you hit the throttle hard without the brakes, the car only moves forward a small amount as the rears spin, it's totally controllable and normal. You may have to reverse a few feet to get back to the line.

here... this is some seriarse burnout effect!! just copy paste it over your car.

wow that's a burn out!
