base vs sport package

If I am going to modify the car, does this mean I am only getting the limited differential since the wheels, suspension and rear spoiler will get upgraded?
Thanks.

What?

TerribleONE 03-06-2014 06:44 PM

You will also get the upgraded brakes, and synchro rev match if 6mt

Thinking of Automatic, not quite sure I can deal with 6MT as DD. So basically just limted-slip differential and upgraded brake?

These are the obvious differences between sport and base

Sport- 19'' Forged Rays (very popular to re-sale) vs 18'' stock wheels (which can look really nice powdercoated)
Nissan BBK (aftermarket stuff is expensive) vs really ugly calipers. Like... you can kind of see it in my avatar there glowing a bright dirty-silver....

Id say unless you are going to mod out everything.. Sport package starts you off nicely..

Other stuff is performance related.. like a sportier suspension and stuff that I personally would never be able to notice unless you told me.

7aT is fun..and if you get in that manual mood.. you have paddle shifters.

I got my 7at I'm nonsport because I was planning to mod all that first.

Already got new wheels and coilovers, and will have my quaife LSD next week.

Brakes are next

I've had both the 7AT and 6MT and I will say the clutch and shifting in the 6MT is so easy that it is fine as a daily driver. The 7AT is also about as much fun in an auto as can be had for a reasonable price.

My 2cents I recently went with a base model it saved some coins for my pocket to make mods. But it's a longer term project, it will take me a few years to get everything where I want it.

Question is how much are you going to mod your car and how soon? Honestly the brakes system on the Sport will still be good enough even after most of the standard mods. The VSLD is good but not great and will eventually wear out. S-Mode is nice but you can learn and do what it does yourself.

To me the money I saved on getting the base vs sport I was able to get better than stock. I would replace some parts too, granted it took me 2 yrs to finnally get some of the parts, LSD and coils. But having no bbk and srm is not a big deal since it is mostly a dd and autox car and I know how to properly heel toe. So for me I can give too shitts about the sport package.

:iagree:

if you're planning to really mod this car into a track machine (aka SPOHN) i think it's worth getting the base and do it all from scratch, but for someone that's going to be motoring around town and spirited weekend drives, the sport package will be more than plenty imho.

I'd still get the sport just because and mod whatever you want to mod anyway.

resale value is higher if you get the sport package.
