Deciding between 2 370z's

Well, my brother is ready to purchase his 370z. There's a black 2012 with 11k miles certified, sport package but has aftermarket wheels which look like ADV1 wheels. They want 26k for it. Then there is a 2010 with the sport package for 23k with 58k miles not certified, and it's Monterey Blue. Which is the better value? And what should he offer for each of them? This is in sacramento by the way.

Take the newer one with lower miles.

Riptide67 03-05-2014 05:00 PM

newer with lower mileage would be it for me.

cooltoy 03-05-2014 05:12 PM

They had the lower mile one since last may I believe, it was listed at 29k now at 26k. What's a reasonable offer if the car is in good condition?

KBB.com would be best bet imo, it doesnt account for mods but actual value of the car would be a good base line.

The black one has a fair purchase price of 28k and the blue one has a fair price of 21k. Hmm, the 2012 should be under the 3 year bumper to bumper correct?

Yes, I'd go with the 12 as well.

Grindkiezer 03-05-2014 05:59 PM

Yea your right, 3 years or 36,000 miles, take the 12 with 11k, you'll still have warranty and low Milage

Z-Girl 12 03-05-2014 08:14 PM

No brainer, the 12 with low miles...

kenchan 03-05-2014 08:26 PM

is this a serious question?

///PureSwank 03-05-2014 10:09 PM

The black is obviously the better choice. It cost 3g's more but saves you almost 40K MILES! I don't even have 40K and I own a 09z! That's a lot of driving. Go with the newer one.

/Angelo350Z/ 03-05-2014 11:59 PM

/Thread.

genesis2012 03-06-2014 12:08 AM

alcheng 03-06-2014 01:18 AM

which oil do they use?

( Click to show/hide )

seriously, why'd you need to ask? surely the newer one with lower mileage. :icon17:

zilverbullet 03-06-2014 01:24 AM

Adv1 wheels..... Go for it

cautupwitdm 03-06-2014 03:16 AM

I can't believe there is any dilemma in these two options. The 12 for sure! And I'm sure you could knock it down 500 bucks if you point out a few minor issues first, like paint chips or tire wear.

:iagree: I mean it's basic Car-buying 101. Newer, low miles. If it's not what you want, just wait it out until you find what you're looking for.

ProfessorDave 03-06-2014 09:04 AM

They make Z's in black? and blue? I thought they only came in silver and gray?

I'd say if you have a strong color preference, then go with that!

ajc1884 03-06-2014 09:08 AM

Dont be silly. 2012 w/ low miles! Oil cooler bonus in 2012 as well and no steering wheel lock!

Done deal.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the oil cooler only added for the Nismo?

Nope. All models. But it's a band-aid at best. It's a dinky little oil-to-water unit.

:iagree: its not anything that will alleviate the problems run into during serious :driving:

hadokenuh 03-06-2014 10:11 AM

The low miles one or just keep looking.

Justice97 03-06-2014 12:52 PM

Take the one on the left.

b15 03-06-2014 01:43 PM

Well, the 2010 they only wanted to drop the price by 500 and the 2012 the price was unable to change a penny, they argued that it's a steal. Although, we noticed that a 2009 370 base with 86k miles is listed at 17,880. I know it's a base with high mile but do you guys think they would let it go for 15-16k?

If that were my only option I'd keep saving up for longer, even if they gave it to me for $15k.

Pistons132 03-11-2014 04:28 PM

Hmmm, good point! Thanks for the advice!
