from all 3 threads you have posted its seems like fontana nissan has diagnosed the problem and is waiting for an answer from HQ

with that said you have to pick up your car and wait
to be honest i hear the noise once in a while but to me it is not a problem
maybe its mechanical and thats how its supposed to sound
for example i hear the fan and hard drive humming in my computer tower does it mean its broken??

in the 370z's case if everyone hears it maybe its normal
but i dont know im just saying you might blowing this out of proportion

So I have to pay for a car that I cannot drive and wait who knows how long before Nissan finds a fix? What if that is 6 months from now?

So I tried listening to see if my Z had this noise and it does. It's very high pitched but very low in volume. It's coming from the right side feet area. It is constant whether the car is just sitting at a stop light or driving. When the car is off there is no sound. That being said the only way I can hear this is with the window up and no radio. If I turn the radio anything higher than level 3 on the volume I can't hear the noise at all. With no radio but the windows down I can only hear the noise when at very low speeds or at stand still.

Is it annoying? Yes, but only because now I know it's there. Had this post never been created I probably would never have picked up on it since I usually have my windows down and/or have the radio on to at least volume level 5. So for now I'm not really going to be worrying about but it would be nice to see a resolution of this or at least find out the cause.

In all honesty....either I cant hear in that range or my car doesn't do it.

 *runs to the parking garage to check*

My noise goes away if you are 100% stopped. As soon as you give it any gas you can hear it and it stays the same through all RPMs. But if you are at a complete stop it goes away.

This may have been asked and answered already, but the car that you have that's making the noise...it is the same car you test drove? If so, did you notice the sound during the test drive?

Never test drove this car, the dealer had to get it from up North. The car I did test drive and the cars I drove on the lot just last week did not have this noise.

Gotcha.....mine was brought down from a different dealer than the one I actually made the purchase from, too. I've never really paid attention for said noise but I have a feeling when I leave work tonight and head home I'll turn the radio and A/C off and listen carefully.

Best of luck to you with resolving the issue. I can see how frustrating it's been for you. :tiphat:

Yea a lot of people are hearing some noises but they seem to be different. I also hear the ticking what is above the engine but its not audibly noticeable while in the car.

Most people drive with the radio on but I don't, thats why it sticks out to me so much more than other people. I usually listen to XM news channels or talk radio and the noise is very noticeable.
