You are taking it out of proportion....and calm down. Just because they own a Z doesn't mean they are an enthusiast or on forums.

Just because they don't wave at you or nod doesn't mean squat. Maybe you think you're cool because you do the above?! Just playing devils advocate here.

There are a lot of weird people in this world these days and for a stranger to wave and nod at another stranger, is just weird. Just take it this way, not everyone is an enthusiast. Some buy the car because they like it.

If I love the attention, I'd buy a bike cruiser so we every cruiser can give me the cruiser wave.

Not trying to sound like a d-bag but relax.

So what you're saying is, is it's weird to be friendly? :ugh2:

Not me necessarily. I also have a WRX and we have our own nod/wave/thumbs up but I only do it to people who do it to me. Why? Because I am an enthusiast.

Some people think it's weird, hence "a lot of weird people in this world" Also you must of missed that fact that not everyone is an enthusiast, some people buy cars to buy them.

Apoc370z 01-29-2014 12:59 PM

i am sorry to say this, i only wave to people in Gun Metallic Zs. People with different colored Zs are just tasteless

Somehow the big ass one doesn't have the same problems... And the ONLY place where it has bad reviews is Amazon, but based on like 11 reviews.

Also, not sure if I talked to you about it, but your problem is a REALLY easy fix. sucks that you have to do it, but it costs like $15 and maybe an hour of your time if you're a woman I mean retarded... I mean don't have tools

I only wave to people who drive Bosch.

regarding the OP, jerks exist across all car genres. Sports cars tend to pull in a higher share.

that being said, Nissan enthusiasts tend to be some of the most approachable sports car bros I've had the pleasure of dealing with.

on the other hand, the BMW community is pretty damn bad. it's painful.

Eclipz 01-29-2014 01:31 PM

People with mustangs must be so tired of waving to all the other mustangs they see.

I don't own a Z but I don't see them often, and if I do they are the same ones over and over.

The other Z owners that don't wave back to you must be like this:

Crayon 01-29-2014 04:24 PM

Uh, I don't acknowledge people I don't know on the road. If I don't know you, and you wave at me, I'm going to look at you like you're crazy. I might reciprocate a nod, but I don't really look for that, so I'd probably miss it.

90% of the time I don't see the people waving at me ...although it's hard to estimate the number of people I DON'T see lol. I usually wave back to those I do see, but sometimes it catches me by surprise and I shy away, looking away from the other driver.

I guess in the eyes of the OP that makes me an "a**hole" and a "douche bag" worthy of receiving the "middle finger", and I should take my "weak sauce" and "get the f*** out".

RonRizz 01-29-2014 05:12 PM

While driving, I'm busy watching the road, not the Dude in the other Z........ME, Cool? yeah, like the other side of the pillow. just depends on who you ask.

Duc_Z09 01-29-2014 05:21 PM

I look at it this way... I work in a research lab and went to Hopkins to study molecular microbiology and immunology. I'm not cool. I've never been cool, and I'm not going to be cool in the future, even if I buy a Veyron. So screw it.

I wave to people who wave to me, but I've always thought it was more of a motorcycle thing than a car thing. And speaking of which, it was funny how back when I had a Harley the HD guys would wave and sport bike guys wouldn't, but now that I own a Ducati it's the HD guys that turn their noses up while the sport bike guys (well, most of them) return my wave.

I'm done with the "wave." I'll ride/drive what I like and DGAF what everyone else thinks.:gtfo2:

Malm 01-29-2014 05:59 PM

depends on the driver. In my area, there mostly older women that drive 370 roadsters..or the occasional 350. I wave anyway, but usually nothing happens.

FairladyZ10PG 01-29-2014 06:20 PM

Yup, I get more love from STi and Evo guys than Z drivers. To be fair, I've yet to run into any forum member.

shut up DE. you dont even know how to work a wrench. :shakes head:

your go to tool is pliers.

remove lugs? pliers.
oil change? pliers.
detail paint? pliers.
install decals? pliers.

Dwight Frye 01-29-2014 06:51 PM

To the OP: Take a pildora frio. Don't worry about it. If you are cool, you will know it and it will be manifestly obvious to all who you encounter. It's like tattoos. By the time "everyone was getting them" they were no longer cool. Your ride does not define your coolness any more than wearing bad ink does.
As you gain maturity you will see, grasshopper.......

lol like doing plasti-shitt. by the time you got all that shitt on the car, they're no longer cool.

Probably wouldnt hear a beep, or notice someone stalking me on the side. Usually I won't notice u unless u pass me. Also, I kinda feel weird waving at a stranger just because we have the same car. If I was walking in a mall and see someone with the same jacket, I'm not gonna wave and try to be his buddy.

:( but we have the same hot type car and everybody that doesn't have this same type hot car is tired of talking to me about mine. :(

Op
To get this out of the way now, yes, I do feel cool as **** when I drive my Z. It's my weekend car so Hell yeah. With that being said I do not act like a douche when driving it. I'm actually a lot nicer driving the z, however, I know I'm only a couple clicks to downshift and take off etc. If I get cut off I will blast by downshift etc. But not all the time. I get a lot of looks when driving my Z so again yes I feel cool ga. Especially with my shades :D.

I do not wave to 350z drivers. Imo 350z are ugly and the people that drive them are young kids or old folks.

I try to give thumps up to all 370z drivers. I get excited when I see one and I'm driving mine. I act like I don't own the car my self aha. I hardly come across them, so when I do I get really happy haha.

I was next to a 370z once and I rolled down my window and so did the guy next to me. He was an older guy and I told him his z looked great in silver. It was rather gloomy so it really caught my attention. He said "this car looks great in every color".
Long story short I was driving to a friend's house and he happened to live down the street. So I pulled over and approached him and we talked cars for a bit. He told his wife, "hey hun, I found a friend with a z on the way here. Hahaha

I also had a douche 370z driver I encountered. I was going to target and he was behind me. He parked and I decided to park next to me. He then tells me that I was parked in a spot designed for pregnant people and I should move before I get a ticket. Didn't even acknowledge the car or anything.
He was probably mad cause I had the sport and he only had a base haha.

b15 01-30-2014 07:07 AM

Never understood the "Harley acknowledgement" mentality.

Do I think I'm cool because I own a Z? Nope. I exude awesomeness no matter what car I drive. Having the Z is just icing on the cake :D

Boomer370 01-30-2014 08:15 AM

I've owned a 350z and now drive a 370z.

I wave and give the thumbs up to all Z. Majority of the times I get the thumbs up or wave back. Some of the times, people just look at me like I'm crazy.

I get giddy like a little school girl when I see any Z.

It get a little more dopey and get more funny looks when I wave at people while driving my DD Carolla.

L33T Z34 01-30-2014 08:48 AM

2 OP, I'm better than you! :D

I don't know about Cali, but in Texas, these parking spots are designed and designated by the store, NOT law. No ticket can or would be given. It is a courtesy thing.

How would they know how pregnant an individual is, one does not get a pregnancy license plate.
