350z/G35 crowd is known for being mostly wannabe stunna douchebags. I've never had issues with 370z guys except they just don't usually wave or say hi because they think whatever trim package they have is superior.
At the gym I got to there's a 350z wannabe hellaflush stance crap with the wheels sticking out. |
[QUOTE=Grindkiezer;2670427]I know a few Z owners personally that are some of the coolest/humble people. I know that not everyone is a douchey owner. I think that I'm pretty approachable and would be able to strike up a conversation with other enthusiasts around me, but I guess some hold to themselves. I wish I got some pics of the faces these people make though, if facial expressions could be translated it's almost like "Why are you talking to me?"
Wish you had pics too. I always wondered what JungleZ looked like :roflpuke2: OP, must be bad luck, the few that I've met in person have been very friendly and approachable. If you saw them on the road driving, don't take it negatively as they may have been focusing on driving or their minds were preoccupied on something else. |
If I'm on the freeway, I'm not there to make friends or be distracted while driving. I'm usually in my own world, listening to music and concentrating on the road in front of me. Probably wouldnt hear a beep, or notice someone stalking me on the side. Usually I won't notice u unless u pass me. Also, I kinda feel weird waving at a stranger just because we have the same car. If I was walking in a mall and see someone with the same jacket, I'm not gonna wave and try to be his buddy.

I don't think I'm cool........I know I'm cool

I like to think I'm pretty dang cool! :p
Nah I wave at 370s, 350s, 300s, etc. I've had a few people give me the WTF stare but I've also had many many waves. I think every model of a car has their own set of d-bags. It is what it is! |

Also perhaps not the same shirt, but what if you are a sport fan and you saw someone wearing the same team apparel as you? To me it is kind of like that. I wave when I can. I don't always get a wave back or acknowledgement, but when I do I :happydance: |
Its in the manual, at least on the 2013 Z, "The obligatory ""wus up man"" man nod/wave is no longer obligatory" Pg 36, paragraph 3. As*holes unite!!!

Old but funny video I enjoy when people talk about Z owner being douchebags and what not.

However, nine times out of ten, I can't tell if someone is waving/thumbs upping me when driving by - the tint is so dark on their car + my tint... I can't see. I'll wave most of the time to other Z people, but I'm not obligated to nor do I expect them to acknowledge. Sounds like the OP thinks he's better than the others, expecting reciprocation from other Z drivers. Some people like to pay attention to the road... :stirthepot: |

Come to Texas, people are a little more nice. I always get a wave back from fellow owners.

Back on topic, I'll wave at a stock or tastefully modded Z of any vintage. If you're rocking the hellaflush look, I'll pretend I didn't see you. |

You said it Zeebabar I know I am damn cool, go big or go home I say. no sense what so ever but I know I am cool. :icon17: |

Most Z owners I've come across (regardless of gen) have been d-bags. LITERALLY less than a handful I have met have shown good comradery. TWO different Z owners I came across here in the Nashville area (one even in our TN G/Z FB group) actually gave me a hard time about owning a touring model and not a "sport model". Seriously!? Judging a fellow enthusiast about his or her trim level? :wtf: I LOVE the amount of information on this forum and the knowledge of it's members but, DAMN I have REALLY been disappointed in the community. I had a friend of mine put it this way. "Think of Z owners like BMW owners. React and respond as such" He is a former Z owner and now drives a BMW X5 lol Just my POV and I'll side with the OP. |
Are you all sure you just don't live in areas with high concentrations of d-bags?

Depending on areas, we have the mexi-style protruding rimmers, the I'm cooler than that (because I have style) ricers, the muscle heads in the camar/charg/llenger/stang- thing, the hurrying SUV who don't know how to drive, the giant American (I don't care if you're there- cause I'm an American hero) pickups, etc... Hope I didn't offend anyone, just that LA is a melting pot of d-bags. Block to block, you'll always find a different one. Not just Z owners. |

I KNOW I do haha Nashville! AKA: the land of civics with farts cans, ricers that THINK they're hot s**t and lifted trucks that "roll coal" with HIDs :werd: At least in terms of the auto scene here or lack thereof. |
Live to short to worry about stuff like that. Concentrate on those you love.

If you did not like how the other driver modified their car, and you thought he/she just ruined the look of a car you really like, would you still wave to them?

touring. sheesh... :shakes head: |
I get more waves and hellos from the Subaru family than I ever did in my Nissan :stirthepot:

Plenty of love down south between Z owners on the roads and whatnot.

I don't care to glance at other cars when sitting at the light. |
Some yes some no, I try to make a habit to wave or beep at other Z owners, 350s too, some respond others do not. The 370s have a somewhat mixed bag or repsect around here, so some owners I would say are alreadt on the defensive...I was talking casually to a customer of mine that had a crz and I told him I had a 350 and was going to turbo my 370 soon and he told me I was stupid modding my 370 and should have kept my 350 and TTed it...it takes all kinds.

To answer the thread title, not because of whatever car/truck/bike/plane/ufo I'm in. Nor do I need name brand clothes, shoes etc.. to be "cool" or feel better about myself.
I just do this....;)
